Here's an idea.
Introduction: (Feel free to skip)
I'm in a casual clan with friends, family I'd like to chat with. It bothers me that I reject people to join my clan because I want to win a Clan war.
For instance can't I invite all my friends my low leveled family and newbies.. to let them benefit from our donations and chat with them, and in the same time enjoy winning wars without having AFK players, newbies in our clan war instead of kicking them?
This is simply as giving them a Social rank in game.
Suggestion:
The ability to make Leaders/Co-leaders chose which members in the clan should be eligible in fighting clan wars. No matter how big the clan is the war member numbers should still be divisible by 5 with a minumum of 10 like the current system: 10v10 15v15 20v20...
This then allows a large clan no matter the number, fight a war which is smaller than the clan size only if it meets the requirements of joining a war.
How?
Toggling players in clan (A function only available to Leaders/Co-Leaders) to be eligible/ineligible to fight in clan war.
Example:
If my clan has 24 members with only 15 solid attackers why am I forced to join a 20v20 war rather than fighting a 15v15 one? I don't want to kick those 9 members just because they're bad in attacking. I want them to spectate, watch and learn how the rest do their attacks so they eventually learn and then be given a chance to prove themselves. If I'm a leader and I see two people with same skills and that are competing for that position I would then toggle one and untoggle the other to let the other prove him/herself in the second war.
If I toggle 18 players eligible for war. Then here comes the Trophies count priority (Like the current system). And whoever's higher in trophies will join the war and 3 people would not.
Benefits:
Clan wars will be now be way more challenging considering that we're handpicking the fighters. Players in clan will also try to improve and interact with the clan rather then just attacking and leaving with no need to perform better if the clan is already winning. Spectators will also watch and see other members while they attack and learn from their tactics as well as from their mistakes.
Added:
A feature where Members could also toggle themselves Available/Unavailable the option of participating in next war or not rather then dropping in trophies purposely or leaving clan just before a war search starts then rejoining or raising back the trophies up after the war starts.
