We earned our levels, now in global and clan chat we can only view league. Also when attacking our level would put fear in our attacker, now we can not view them at all anymore unless we display our clan info or view someones village, please restore???

Agreed. The League is much less useful information than the level. They could combine the two by having the background of the level number be the league symbol instead of the blue star, but really: bring the level back, please!

I came here to post this exact thing we need our levels back. We've had several people want to join our clan but when they do we have no idea what level they are not that it's a big deal to look at the person's base but this just saves some time. I agree to the op's point we earned them so why can't we see them?
There are quite a few people who do not think levels are important as they only show progress in upgrading and / or donating. They do not symbolise player skill necessarily. Come up with good reasons to have level status returned, present a solid argument, other than just saving time.
I want them back too, we shall have to wait and see, eh?
