You are right glorp89. I am at about your same level +- a league. With 270 wins so far since this league thing came out, the amount of loot bonuses do add up.
Happy Clashing!

I already won my league, then I got promoted. Then I lost a few trophies, and lost the league. I guess. Then I was at the top of the first league again, so I won it. Then I got crazy and won some trophies and ended up in the higher league again. At the bottom.
It is a complete waste of time. I looked at the league stuff for the first few days, now I ignore it completely. I could (probably) win a league by losing some trophies and dropping down, thereby beating all the players who tried, really, really hard to 'climb to the top'.
Or I could win 200 attacks, defend my base 100 times successfully, and be at the bottom of a league, which could be won by a player that won one match.
There. Is. No. point.
Agreeing with you takes a sentence.
Disagreeing with you takes a conversation.
I have time.
You have a point about the loot adding up, even as small as it is. But I believe the point most people are making here is the fact that the leagues are pointless other than the fact you do get a bonus, although it is much smaller than what we saw it as in the "leaked" info.
As already mentioned, you can go up or down the different leagues based on your trophy count. Which begs the question why in the world does it need to reset every two weeks if you can move up and down the leagues to begin with.
The matchups are still calculated the same way as a regular attack, you dont specifically raid those in your specific league. So what exactly is the point of the leagues, other than a pointless ladder system where you are penalized for going up past a certain trophy number by going to another league. It makes no sense to me.
The league system is a good idea, it just seems they threw it together with no thought of how to operate it effectively.
