next, next, next, next, next, next, next, next, next, next, next, next, next, next..

NEXT. that's what my COC games consist more of now.
i'm not gonna say to much more on this futile update for supercell has wasted enough of my time, frustration, and money. i build a 25 minute army and play 20-40 matches a day. for people saying they don't know or see much of a difference with this update - well, you don't play the game. you definitely don't raid. i noticed immediately a difference when i had to continually hit next to find, well, not even a decent match. i call ♥♥ on the low resources because 'resources are always low after an update' ♥♥. they weren't low after the last update. remember everybody ♥♥♥♥♥ing about the wall breaker ai. i actually supported you. i thought it may be a trophy issue. started leagues with 1900 trophies, hated it, now i'm at 1500 and sinking and still not much better... all-though it's a-lil better. i have a FULLY upgraded TH7 with a fully upgraded army for this TH7 & laboratory5. my army also feels weaker than before, can't really explain it or prove it but, now i question every little move (not in an strategic fun way) when before the update, i deployed with means and confidence. i don't even look at the leagues anymore. something is just different, not in a good way. i can't believe supercell sucked the fun out of my once favorite iPad game overnight.

The amount of gold you need to spend to find a decent hit that can cover the cost is ridiculous. It just put a bonus of winning meaningless and really, shameful. I also have a feeling with this update SC has been removing inactive from game matching. When is your last time to find a hit that has good resources without DE resources? i am sure SC has already removed them or most of them.

Your army is weaker than before. Well, actually the defenses are stronger. The fix to the Wizard Tower and Mortar targeting glitch basically made them twice as strong because they no longer start their cycle over when a unit they were going to fire on moves. I have, at least temporarily, dropped goblins from my army in favor of barbarians who aren't one-shotted by most wizard towers/mortars. Also, teslas have a wider range. So, they are more effective. Your tier 1 troops are probably getting owned just like mine.

Resources are lower for people with loot in their storages and who are under the cap. To reach the cap before, they needed to have about 800K. To reach the cap now, it's closer to 1,000,000. So, for everyone below 1,000,000 you're going to see a 20% reduction (at least from the loot you can get from those collectors).

I started the leagues at 1600 trophies. I moved up in anticipation of the update and leagues/bonuses. I was farming around 1000-1300 and was excited to finally have an incentive to play for trophies. I think the game should be about trophies. A couple of weeks ago, I moved my TH inside and started moving on up. After the update, I went through two days of utter frustration playing at 1600 trophies. I was losing more battles than ever and I could not get the elixir I needed for my next upgrade (level 5 gobs). No loot with the loot reduction and wizard towers and mortars owning my goblins. I changed my troop composition and dropped three leagues to 1100 trophies. I moved my TH back outside. I'm now farming again. :::SIGH:::

    About the loot

    To all fellow players:
Around 1600 it is really dry. There is a mass of people who keep their storages small. This is NOT caused by this update. Someone just took 190k of elixir from me and all the pumps were close to empty. The loot is still there, if the opponent is rich enough. Since I have followed this thread I think most of the people do not understand about percentages and do not know what 5% actually means. I feel for you.

People are whining, because the game has changed loot-wise A BIT. They want to keep bashing weaker opponents for easy loot and it seems to be a big deal, if the weak are able to hold on a bit more on their own storages. The most are crying, because they don't get so much EXTRA LOOT as they hoped.

All of us are playing this for free, since no-one is forced to pay for playing.

    To Supercell:
You need to explain the background of the changes to reduce change-resistance before (or at least at the time of) the change. Release notes are not enough, since they do not describe all the aspects- nor all the changes. You have to respect the heavy-users by giving them more accurate details. I know what you are going through. I have been in the same position providing a free environment for people to spend their time on and everyone knows better how you should handle your stuff. If you get a handful of hatemail, it means you are doing something important to these people. I respect your work.

    Response to Bigolas

I'm not placing your comment on here again, for space reasons. Too many pages!
but, I am jolly impressed by your thoughts, and I agree with the different league system proposed, offering rewards for winning the little leagues.

However, the golden elixir thing won't work, because as soon as this becomes something people want, the financial folks behind SC will see it as a resource to sell. There is no way something that gives bonuses like that will be free. GE packs would be offered via gems, and certain people would buy stacks of it. Sorry, good idea, but wrong market.

Keep posting though, intelligent work such as yours is to be encouraged.
Agreeing with you takes a sentence.
Disagreeing with you takes a conversation.
    I have time.

More money for supercell if golden elixir cant be bought

Unfortunately, that's probably true. The money-grubbing mindset has a history of unbalancing a game and then alienating their players by such short-sightedness, to a net loss of money to the company and of enjoyment to the customers. I've seen it happen to several games.

But perhaps saner heads could explain the following to the short-sighted saboteurs: Golden Elixir is a means to an end. You cant buy units, buildings or upgrades with it. All you can do is buff up an army in pursuit of the main goal: gold and goo. And gold and goo are _already_ available for gems. Why buy GE hoping to get more gold and goo when you can simply buy more gold and goo directly?

In fact, supercell stands to make MORE money by having GE available through raiding only than it would by selling it.

Think about it: raids are a resource sink. Even with these little 'awards', the fact is that resources spent to build an army are lost. Your gains are what you steal - and those are subtracted from someone else.

Meaning that more raiding means more resources (net) lost, means gold and goo are more valuable. Meaning more people might buy it... Not the 'middle' stage of GE, but the 'goal' of gold, elixir, and DE.

Additionally, if there are "league competitions", players will be alienated if people can "buy" a win. Getting GE for gems would permit that, as it would let players "buy" these buffs which would help them jack up their trophies. Fewer players caring about league contests would mean fewer people raiding... Which again means, ultimately, less money for Supercell.

Actually, there's a better way to think of it: the "psychology" of these pay-to-play games requires that both paying and non-paying customers be happy. paying customers, obviously, to get their $. But the non-paying ones are, actually, just as important, as they provide the "community" that keeps the game fun - that retains payers and turns some on-payers into payers.

To keep non-payers happy, there has to be something which can be acquired *only* by skill. Otherwise, non-payers are alienated, seeing inferior players advance simply by shelling out $. Too much of this, and non-payers leave. "Why should I bother playing, when idiots just buy their way to the top?"

Failing to grasp this fundamental customer relations issue is why many such games, initially promising, wither and collapse - they alienate a large part of their customer base and, doing so, sacrifice much of the appeal of the game, which rests on having a vibrant, active community.

You can see some of this at work in CoC already - with the contempt many players have for "gemmers" - those who just buy their way to the top, who dont advance on skill.

Implementing Golden Elixir as a "skill only" part of the game would be a big "social" and "community" boost, as its aquisition and use would be sentirely skill based. The large non-payer portion of the customer base would feel rewarded and excited.

On the other hand, it wouldnt take any "payers" away from the game. Since GE would be an 'intermediate' step - a way of buffing raids to get more gold and goo - it wouldnt replace any of the "end products" (measured as resources or time) which gemmers pay for.

Those who spend money would still spend money, everyone who raids would do so more vigorously, both to get GE and for the fun of using it, and that vigor and excitement would translate, ultimately, into more payers and more payment.

Allow GE to be bought, however, and you defeat its whole purpose. You dont get any more money, in the big picture, from payers, and you alienate the non-payers. Alienated players mean fewer, not ore, raids... Reduced activity means a quieter game and community... A quieter game means fewer paying customers are retained and, those who stay, buy less.

Paradoxically - but quite predictably - implementing GE as a "reward" for good raiding and then devaluing it by making it "purchasable" would actually bring in LESS money to SuperCell, not more.

So, if they're smart, they'll realize that they'll get the most money, long term, by fostering aggressive raiding. Having GE available -only- as a reward for raiding, not from gems, will maximize the incentives for more raiding and stimulate a more vibrant and active community, which, in turn, will increase the number of gems spent amd the number of players spending them.

Allowing people to "buy" GE, on the other hand, would both defeat its purpose of inspiring more competitive raiding and risk needlessly alienating a large portion of the player base... neither of which contributes to the long-term financial health of the company!

    My thoughts

I'm in an office with several people playing this game,so the conversation tends to lean on game ideas. Most of us where very excitedabout this new League Idea, and after playing for a few days we are verydisappointed by the "Bonus Loot" as are many of you.
So we have beentossing around some ideas here in the office we fill that the league system ispointless in its current stage. We like the "Attacks Won" and"Defenses Won" idea but we think that should be "ConsecutiveWins" or "Winning Streak". We also think that the bonus shouldreflect a winning streak (like base bonus times number of consecutive wins=Bonus).
So Gold League III bonus is 3800
    2 wins 3800X2=7600
    3 wins 3800x3=11400
This would encourage players to win.
Right now I may win 3 or 4 in a row and then lose 3 or 4just to stay in my current range. I look at battle as a cost to reward system.
(Example Army build cost me 80,000 Elixir and 66,000 Gold)So I only look for people that can cover the cost of the build.
The multiplier effect would help those looking to farmand move up in trophies.
Also a defensive loss ends the Win Streak
    Just our 2cents...

    League matching.

    Hi,

While there are alot of things to like about the new update (leader msgs, shorter upgrade/research times) many of our clan members are now struggling to find matches that make the raid worthwhile. What is the thinking behind this? It costs 40k+ to train most armies and if you can only find a raid with 50k-60k, whats the point. Also, the 'bonus' is so small there is no incentive to try and climb to higher league (where you'll struggle even more finding a good raid).

Why can it not be a choice as to whether you want to be in a league?

Can you also put the level back in the chat board? You've left enough space to have that and the league badge.

The leader msg is great, especially for members who cant be contacted another way. Will there be an opportunity to send msgs to individual clan members? That'd be great for those in danger of being kicked etc...

Thanks for the chance to have a say.

Hi guys I'm happy with the update but it's not showing my level on global chat and there by disadvantaging me recruiting members please read on consider helping me out also with the updates for all the lower levels like my second account getting 1000 gold and elixir it's not enough when the really high levels get 100000 of both is unfair seeming as they are already a high level and should be the other way around I wish thank you and I'd like a level 10 town hall
