    The game, like many others similar to this, isn't meant to be completed overnight, to be a maxed, or near maxed base without gems takes a lot of time and dedication, the update today has even helped things, with extra loot (however small it may be.. It's extra) and reduced spell times.

    And as you seem to care for such things, Im the highest level in the game, I've played from the start, I've been top 10 for trophies, I've been in the top clans, and the top (I guess it's disputed though) farming clan.

Do you get a kick back from all the gems you sell or does that all stay at the top and not make its way down to you?? Id be upset if i was you buddy...

    I really appreciate you breaking this down for me. It makes it much easier to respond. As you can imagine, I am having quite the busy day. I'll try and answer these to the best of my ability/knowledge, but as you can imagine, it's pretty difficult to respond to such loaded, biased questions, especially considering your mind already seems to be made up.

    I may have to track down some answers for you so if I leave any blank I'll come back and fill those in later.

    1. Why has this update and the last major update been geared specifically towards higher level elite members and specifically towards the gemmers???

    Leagues don't only affect high level players or gemmers. The ability to select and rotate walls doesn't gear specifically to high level players. The fixes for mortars and wiz tower targeting generally make lower level Town Halls much harder to raid successfully. I could go on.

    Powerful high level troops and buildings require a fine balance with prices and upgrade time. They are designed to force players to make tougher and tougher choices as they advance in the game. The goal is to create more variety in base set ups and troop compositions, but I can understand the position that upgrades and too expensive and time-consuming. What I can't understand is why you think those upgrades benefits are marginal.

    I can't answer that one as I simply don't agree. Maybe it is true that you can't be a top player without gemming, but I personally have two accounts. On one account, I have spent upwards of $250 on gems. On the other, I have spent $0. I've had WAY more fun on my free account, but my approach to the game isn't to be a top player and I feel much less pressure to do so since I have not invested my money. I guess if that is your goal, then it may be unfair, but there is more than one way to play a game.

    As far as loot reduction, it wasn't a straightforward reduction. It only applies in some cases, all explained above. Game economies are at least as, if not more, complex than real economies, and the slightest mistake can send things into a tailspin.

    We are constantly evaluating this and figuring out how to improve things.

    In addition, we rebalanced upgrade times for collectors, barracks and production times for spells. This should help all players. I'm not claiming this is the be all and end all for this process, but it's part of it.

    If we implemented everything our community asked for and requested we wouldn't have a coherent game. We'd have a giant pot of awesome ideas that were all over the map. We ask for community opinion and involvement so we can utilize that feedback to iterate on the game. We do that quite often. I'm sure a lot of long-term forum members can attest to that

    We don't. Plain and simple. The idea is that the game design should cater to all style of players, not just one style.

    To balance out the increases in power. A better hero means more down time, a better troop means more cost for said troop

    The system does not currently offer rewards for being at the top of your tier.

    Speed up costs for troop training are based on time to finish training, not on the amount of troops.

    I'm very happy with the way I have been treated by Supercell. It's without a doubt the most transparent, fun, humble, modest, and bold company I've ever worked for! Obviously, I can't shed any light on our business model. Corporate greed sucks a lot though, but there's none of that here.

    Yes there is a decrease is some scenarios. If the opponent has less than 792k in the storages, the amount you can raid is 20% less than before the update. That gap shrinks as you approach 990k, after which there is no change.

    If you are referring to the fact that no loot is being removed from the game that way, then you are correct. But, the fact remains that raids now yield less loot as a result of this decreased liquidity.

    To be honest, you guys wanted to create hype for this update through the "sneak peaks" and instead a lot of unrealistic expectations were created about what was to come.. that's why there's so much negativity right now as the disappoint seeps through.

    You'll be able to raid less from storages, but they also decreased the mine/collector build time, so we might see higher level collectors, which could counteract the loss from storages, as well as increase the total resources in game.

    I'm sorry but I gotta say it, you are probably having more fun on the account you spent $0 on because the odds of you being TH9 are less and once you reach TH9, the game goes to ♥♥♥♥ because you spend almost as much as you do searching for people to fight as you do the amount of gold you can steal from them. Once you get to the upper echelons, the bases become so complex that you need to spend hours to create an army to even be able to steal resources from them and your stuck with the same amount of collectors you had at TH6, collectively pumping 33k an hour fully upgraded that isn't even enough to make a max upgraded PEKKA.

    That scenario requires assumptions that are not safe to make.

    Significance

    I DO think it's fair to express your opinion regardless if it's a FREE game because as any business, you have to listen to your customers but ofcourse keep it civil guys. I don't normally like to get involved in forums but I've spent quite a bit on time on this game so I will point out my view.

    1. Levels. What is the significance of levels? It unlocks nothing and means nothing other than "respect" I guess.... With the focus of trophies and leagues, it is almost irrelevant.

    2. Time. Time is money, those that can't spend the money, spend hours. Those that can't wait, will have to spend money. Fair enough... but with the "Time" of the higher level upgrades and the amount needed to farm, when will you reconsider it as extreme? When it reaches one "month" or more to upgrade a unit or a building? People want to see the rewards of the TIME spent, but a month out? or multiple months? No thank you. An example solution: How about having multiple builders work on a single building to speed it up? I can "safely" say alot of people quit from being bored from all the wait, and unable to keep up but you can make it more than that... (read point 4. Clans.)

    3. Messages. I am happy with the leader being able to message but I can't figure out why personal messages are still not implemented. It seems very basic to me.

    4. Clans. The name of the game is Clash of Clans but it has never been more than individuals from clans. I like the league idea but it is still an individual accomplishments, maybe there should be tournaments or multiplayer missions that clan members can take on TOGETHER to do a mission. Maybe following a story in a multiplayer mission together or in a tournament it could be capturing the flag style or even defending the castle style with a certain amount of troops. "Anything" to give more significance to be in a clan. Because it's useless to 99% of the clans other than the top 3 clan's top 10 players. Yes there is donating of troops but, should be more...

    5. Update. The update overall was okay such as wall rotation which is a "basic" feature that should have been implemented. I hope to see more basic features implemented such as personal messaging for example. I do think a Golemn was necessary considering how much land based attack can wipe alot of ground troops so fast.

    I have more but those are all about ideas to improve the game. Just my 5 cents :P

    So if I understand correctly, if you had your way people would have max walls in what a few weeks?

    The fact that youre concerned about getting lvl7 walls says alot about YOUR position in the game and suggests that youre not maxxing out before going up in th. This thread was originally intended to discuss the update and not a venting session for wall prices.
