    ...

Even the loot bonus is not significant, everyone should think of this system is the way for supercell to put extra resource into the game instead of incentive for people going for higher trophy range. If you do the math, the amount of resources that go into the game everyday through this system is a lot. Even the bonus is not much but I think the impact on Clash of Clan's economy is enormous. I'm talking about positive impact.

Also I seem to be getting matched up with people in my league now which is awful as I can't seem to find anyone with any decent loot to pillage. My whole clan is complaining of the same problem. This league based system is killing a good game

So gold II is the middle-most league. How come in gold II you only get 5700 res but in champion you get 16x that!

Does anyone else think the middle trophy range bonuses are woefully low? Isn't this supposed to give incentive to go for trophies even when leveling? This only seems to really benefit those that are already trophy hunting, as you don't see many people farming at 2k+ trophies.

    I don't get it...

I don't understand why I'm supposed to care about leagues.

The most obvious difference is that I now see players' league shields rather than their level. This is utterly useless to me, indeed worse than useless: it's their level I care about (to help guide what troops to donate to clannies or what towns to avoid). I don't care what league they're in, but what level they are.

The second most obvious difference is the of "bonus cash" provided after an attack. But this is an irrelevant pittance. It certainly doesn't pay for the 5% drop in winnings from a town, and it isn't nearly enough to encourage me to move to a higher league level. I'll continue to keep my trophies low enough that I can farm players who are one TH lower than I am, not attack stronger towns where that pittance will never offset the reduced amount I can steal.

And.... that's it? What's the point? Am I missing something?

    .

If the goal of all this was to make trophies have any sort of significant game-play value, I don't see how it's had any effect.

Before, except for a handful of 24/7-online gem-buying players' clans in contention for the rewards at the top spot, getting a high trophy count offered no reward or advantage. All it did was ensure you got harder towns whose resources were better defended. Meaning there was no game-play advantage whatsoever to actively seeking trophies. Thus the "standard" practice of dropping cups and farming until you have to drop again. Rinse and repeat.

I can't see how leagues change this dynamic in any way whatsoever? The only new "incentive" they've added to accumulating more trophies is a pittance of resources awarded after a raid, hardly enough to make it worth attacking stronger towns.

    .

So, yeah, I don't get it.... a big complicated new addition to the game that doesn't seem to change the strategy or mechanics in any way.

    What am I missing?

    My 2 cents

What people are missing in this thread is the effect that leagues will have on people's trophy levels in general. Sure, 2200 trophies look high right now, but that's only because there has never been any incentive to get that high before.

Think about this: Before, the last trophy "milestone" was at 1250 for gems, and there's been a glut of towns around the 1200-1700 trophy range, where you can find anything from TH6-9. Now, there is incentive for higher level players to reach the 2000+ trophy range, where they'd never think about going before (at least for farming).

I think what we'll find in the next few weeks is that the whole trophy distribution will start to re-equilibriate, with a wider spread than before. Depending on where this equilibrium occurs, 2000 trophies could end up being more than doable at TH7. Who knows?

If anything, maybe the greatest value in the trophy system is that it will spread people out over a wider trophy range, which should help with the matchmaking system.

Well it kinda does the opposite.. If you want top win your league and are getting close to the top you have to manage and lose on purpose or else you'll get pushed out of your league... ♥♥♥ supercell..gotta be one of your worst ideas

Why would you lose to stay in your league? You don't get anything by "winning" your league. Just move to the next one for the higher bonus.
