Don't be so pessimistic about the 'trophy inflation', as you call it. It is going to happen. I can't say how much, but it definitely deserves a "wait and see" approach. Simply because supercell is incentivizing higher trophy levels, higher trophy levels will happen. It doesn't even take much incentive to get the ball rolling.
As for farmers, they will be forced to go up in trophies as well, because the majority of people will be doing so. If they don't move up, they'll be stuck in lower leagues with lower level bases, and won't be able to farm because they'll keep taking loot penalties.
I am nearly 100% sure your wrong on all accounts the bonuses are so little no one is going to care... The only people that are up in the high ranges are people that wants to be competitive without upgrades and people that almost finish all their upgrades therefore needing much less resources
You said people would want the so call at 2200 trophies the 19k gold and elixir extra + 100 DE but guess what at 1600~1800 you can easily find people with 1000~2000 what is the point of going to that range... There won't be any so call trophy inflation
The reason we were so hyped about this was because we wanted more loot that is why we would go up but the loot when we go up is so disappointing there isn't a point in going up.. Yea.. Jorge Yao would really need that 100k gold n elixir or DE its going to do almost nothing for him. He has them outside! and all the storages Outside!
Look at the leagues 100 people from each league what is the point at being on top No point what so ever to get trophies. Look Once you pass that trophy ranking You move onto a new league YOU start back at the bottom who cares... Or vise versa you lose all your trophies you get kick out of your league but you start at number 1 of your new league. very few people would even care about getting a cool picture by you.
Oh right I spent 2 weeks from 1200~2000 trophies just cause I was expecting better loot. What do I get at 2000 trophies 13k gold and elixir What is the next stage you ask at 2200 19k gold and elixir n 100 DE ugh... Pointless at trophies ranges 1600~1800 you can easily find people with 1000~2000 DE. Spent my time atking expecting better loot only to of found myself with disappointment. And I dropped back down to 1200 trophies in an hour... <--- I find way more stuff here then I do up there and I have to deal with God like bases up there and they give me only 13k?!?!
And what is up with that decrease in storages loot I don't see a point in it ever you say it is so newer players can save more gold but you get much more back from atking losing your stuff every 12~16hours isn't bad now you made it less loot.
If they want trophies to mean something they sure have failed. And what is up with the Oh increased the tournament to 2weeks. And doubled the reward... Well who cares?!?!?! If you double the length you double the reward no brainer of course? But what Of it the top 3 clans stayed the same for like over half a year.

But that's my point - there is, functionally, NO incentive.
The gold & goo rewards for getting into a higher league don't offset the loss of gold & goo from attacking those harder towns.
Even the dark elixir rewards wont' make much difference - only for those who are *almost* farming at that level will find it worth "moving up" to get that bit of extra dark. Probably only TH8s, since TH7s farm substantially lower. And those just under those TH8s won't need to get into a higher league - they can count on the "trickle down" effect to get them a bit more dark goo w/o having to sacrifice the profitability of their raids.
This is why I suggested golden elixir in my previous post - something which can ONLY be gotten from league-based rewards. Then it really is an incentive.
I think you have the logic backwards. As for farmers, they will be forced to go up in trophies as well, because the majority of people will be doing so.
Regular players won't move up because it's not worth it (see above).
And farmers don't respond based on what the people *above* them do, but what the people *below* them do.
So even if some TH8ers move up a little bit, in order to get the greater dark goo rewards, the farmers (of TH8 and below) *wont* move, because they'll be staying where the _lower_ towns can be found.
I.e. TH6 won't move - they don't care about dark goo, they can't use it. So TH6 and TH7 farmers won't move, because the towns they want to farm aren't moving up. So TH8 farmers won't move, because the towns *they* want to farm (TH6 and TH7) aren't moving up.
Again, this is why I suggested golden elixir earlier - moving into a higher league (trophy level) will only be incentivized if it's the only way to gain something, something which can't be acquired by raiding.
(Of course, being a business, SuperCell would make it available for gems as well... and, probably, start raking in a fair amount of money as a result!)
So, anyway, sure, maybe a few people, right near 2200, will move up a bit to get some extra dark elixir. Maybe.
But farmers at TH8 and below won't move up in league level, because their "prey" won't be moving up. And that's what they care about - that's why they're keeping their trophy (and thus league) levels low in the first place!
And even if there's a bit of an upward shift - some people moving up to get to that 2200, and other people following - all you've done is "inflated" the trophy scale. You'll get the same "clustering", just at a slightly higher value. You've simply "depreciated" the 'value' of trophies and adjusted the range at which people farm (based on where their "prey" is hanging out.)
Which seems a fairly inconsequential result for so substantial a game tweak as leagues!

People don't just set their trophies to prey on lower THs. They also set it to avoid getting preyed on by higher level bases. If TH9s move up, TH8s will find that they can move up, and still farm with a (yes, slightly) higher bonus. It doesn't seem like much, but it still can be effective.
Of course, I do not know how effective it will be. I'm only saying that we should wait and see.
Also, you assume that everyone is just trying to max loot. Lots of players will actively try to increase trophies just for the fun of getting to higher leagues. Not everyone does the *smart thing.
So are there any prizes at the end of the league?
Like for example if you end up as rank #1 in crystal I ?
Do you get any kind of prize for finishing #1 in your league or anything? Because if there isn't I don't understand what the ranks are for?
thank you!
I cannot believe the responses to this thread... Think about it. You are getting free elixir and gold. Every win. When you attack and win multiple times a day, that stuff adds up. If you were to count the amount you make from wins over the course of all the wins you ever get in a league level you will find it is not a small amount. It is there as a bonus, treat it as such, not a supplied "free loot" package you all seem to want from Supercell. I for one like the idea. Gives me more of an idea where I sit in the game compared to other players. Just have to farm now and upgrade all my stuff. LvL 8 TH is serious buisness!
I don't really understand but want's happen for the winners of each league ??
example: I'm in a gold II league and I finish the season at the first place !!
will I win something else ?? (gems for example !!! ...)
