I think it does make sense to have a couple of spots for the vacationers or whatever reason so members don't need to leave and come back. Maybe an injury reserve list, one spot for every 10 members, so a clan with 50 members can put max 5 on injury reserve, war becomes 45 vs 45.
I do not think an opt out button is necessary. If Supercell wanted one, they could have done it awhile ago, but they haven't. I think the reason Supercell hasn't added this is because they want leaders to take it upon themselves to organize their clans. Being a leader has its responsibilities. To those who say that it is currently "tedious," I say, "and waiting up to 14 days for an upgrade isn't?" This game has many tedious processes, making the game special. No offense intended, but if you don't want to watch your clan closely that sounds more like a you problem. Supercell would rather focus on game progress such as townhall level 11 and new dark troops. I also disagree with the rather arrogant assertion that those of us against an opt in/out button are a vast minority. The vast majority of Clashers do not go on these forums. I am sure that I will get plenty of hate for this post, but I am just like everyone else here, sharing my own opinion.

I like ike your ideas. Not because clans are falling apart though. I like these ideas because it would be helpful to the leaders and the clan. Say a clan member is going out of town and cant raid in war. He/she just clicks the opt out box. We could also see if anyone was donating ♥♥♥♥ troops, we could also make sure everyone was doing their part in donation.

It isn't that hard to know who is/isn't donating in clan wars. We have the opposite problem, people start making troops but then there isn't enough room for everyone to donate. We have had issues lately where a couple of new people want to go from dragons in the cc to wiz/archer. I think everyone in the clan wants to try, but unless it is organized in advance we will have 35 dragons stuck in camps at the beggining of one war. I got stuck with 10 last war because a few people popped a few wiz in each war cc left so I couldn't donate. I was not very happy to say the least.
Also, you want your higher level player to fill the cc because they have the strongest troops. I don't want the lower players to be filling cc, although if we had a log I could yell at the newbs that put giants in the war cc and won't own up to it, lol.
Neg, our clan has 53 wins and less than ten loses. We still have issues with ppl throwing goblins in. Maybe its new recruits or a joke but it still makes us mad. We always have full cc and we are very organized but there is always one or two in the mix who have issues with their regular donations and it would be nice to see who is credited with filling the cc's. Its not like its a lot to ask.
