As far as the guy calling me a hypocrite - read again. I am freely admitting I use roundabout ways to do it. I am simply asking for a kinder gentler way to carry out the same thing.

And yes, I am indeed a class act. Thanks for noticing.

the two suggestions after that are good ones. I agree that making it a FULL opt out is worth considering.

I hope that if the button is created, it works as you've suggested here.

It solves the problem if having to argue about your war schedule, and/or the need to kick/re-invite inactives/farmers every 48 hours. We divided ourselves by our interests (war/farming), goals, level of activity, and skill; after several months, I've come to appreciate the arrangement. I can definitely see why you feel the way you do, as I once felt the same. Having clan wars remain full clan vs. full clan seems more pure to me than what you're asking for. That said, if the button is created, I won't whine about it.

I do wonder why SC didn't create the button in the first place... They must have considered the idea, right?

Simple math? I have no problem getting my CC filled with twenty fewer members. Our farm team started with five members, and has grown to 25. They are not struggling, either.

I'm well aware that what has worked for my clan may not work for everyone (though I wonder how many have done what we've done and how many just keep struggling to be all things to all members). Dividing ourselves benefited everyone, because the farmers/inactives no longer have to feel pressure from those of us that take the game more seriously.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Ever since we created the 2nd clan, we have gone 11-1-1.

The 2nd clan is doing fine on its own, and is now about the same size.

    I want this button...
Actually, I want 2. One so the leaders can force out players and one for the player to opt out themselves. It would make clan management sooo much easier! We end up kick/inviting a lot of people and I am sure there are some people in our clan that would opt out every now and then. We do constant wars and some would appreciate a break.

I couldn't care less if people take advantage of it. We will still beat them anyway.

I think the button should toggle between warrior and spectator mode a player can be in. The leader and the player in question can both have access to the button. (Co leader can be debatable, whether that is good or not depends on how freely a clan gives out co) When war starts the routine instead of taking in the entire clan population takes in only the ones in Warrior mode. From there everything works the same.

If a clan has fewer than 10 warriors that's on them to fix just like it is if they have fewer than 10 members. Until they fix they cant war.

"I don't care if clans take advantage of it either. We will beat them anyway" ---> True true true true true!!

I am a co in my clan most of the time, so I would prefer that co has access to it too. I start about half the wars and without it, I couldn't do that. In our clan, we pass the leader around depending on who is busy IRL and who can be on most often. I understand that there aren't a lot of clans managed this way though and it takes a lot of trust. I would be OK with just the leader having access if it helped keep clans together. We could easially work around that.

when i first started playing the idea of a clan war was torture. there was little chance of getting stars when you are the lowest in the clan and end up against a clan of all higher players but as the need for Dark Elixir arrived war seems to be something i crave. i know i always spend more elxir than i collect (no big deal i farm enough)

with opt out options it allows clans to have weaker players to help them grow knowing they dont need to struggle till in a postion they feel they can fight

This is an issue of weak/poor leadership and poor member selection. Our clan allows members to opt-out if, for-example, their spell factory is upgrading following a TH upgrade. It's all about coordination. We war at exactly the same time all the time. Everyone knows when war begins. Those who don't want to war can leave the clan before I hit the big red button and come back as soon as I have. I disagree with the opt-in/opt-out button. It gives a handicapt to poorly managed clans.

And if your coleaders are screwing things up, demote or kick them. Ain't nobody have time for that.
