To Upgrade to TH10, Or not to Upgrade. . .

To Upgrade to TH10, Or not to Upgrade. . . That is the question.. Im sure MANY others have had this question, pondered it, asked around.
Reading through some of the forums a lot of people have asked this, but most of them are a lot lower then I am.

My Base:

TH9..
Only Defensive Unit not maxed is Xbows to lvl3 (7million gold)
Walls all lvl7. Some lvl8 but not many
lvl10 heroes.
All research done, Elixir storage maxed out.*

* - Because of this, I usually get raided to get the elixir. Even if I only have 100k Gold

Should I max out the 2 xbows and upgrade the walls before I Upgrade my TH to 10?

I know the golden rule is to upgrade all your defenses and walls if possible. Jus twondering from the current th10 raider if it is worth it or not due to the loot penalties ect..

Definitely finish maxing defenses, you'll only stunt your th10 growth otherwise.

People will say get walls up too, I wouldn't worry too much about them... As one day you'll max all defense and have nothing to spend gold on except walls anyway.

You'll get crushed with walls worse than skulls.
Xbows are good but not as important as those walls.
Plus it's only going to get harder to get gold as a Th10, best to go to lavas now.

Wait til you've maxed up xbows and walls...the loot will decrease when getting your TH10 so it s only gonna take you longer to do them if you up your TH 9 now...

Have a ♥♥♥♥ load of elixir. Ill just attack with all dragons or something.. have some fun.

i was in your shoes a while ago.

i had never progressed to any TH without maxing the prior one.

but going to TH10 prematurely was a great decision for me.

the loot penalty is noticeable, but there were three game changers for me:

1. inferno towers means your base won't get farmed anymore -- you'll get serious attacks, but you won't get the casual TH10 with giants and ♥♥♥♥ troops stealing 200k/200k from you anymore.

2. third DE pump. HUGE.

3. using all that elixir. for me, at least, i hated having maxed elixir all the time -- especially because i knew i could use all of that elixir at TH10 (and when you first get to TH10, you'll need so much elixir it's not even funny!)

Yes i agree with number 1 especially if you are the war all the time type they are so OP in war its comical and seem to be ranked some what low in matchmaking cause our clan with no 10's always seems to get paired with 2 or 3 tens with inferos in a 20 man clan! pain in the butt but we usually end up pulling of the win somehow it is amazing how bad some people can be at attacking with maxed troops smh

That's where my head was at. Right now with both my heroes at lvl 10, when people see me keeping 50k+ Dark Elixir they always try to push for it. Or always drop 3-4 lightning spells on it(happens a lot) even with the DE Storage maxed out.

So it was coming down to weighing the good against the bads...

Goods:

Added Collectors - Gold, Elixir, Dark Elixir
Inferno Towers
Added Defensive units
A Red Town Hall - Black is getting boring

Bads:

Loot Penalty - BOOOOOOO
Other TH10 bases will PWN you
Still having to spend Millions on walls and 2 upgrades(xbows)

Im not upgrading to th10 and i have max defences and all legos - with 74 lavas.. Put it this way, dont upgrade
