Possible ♥♥♥♥♥ing going on or just matched against an amazing clan?

We just lost our first war in 32 straight wars. We were matched up against a Malaysian clan, whose name I don't need to mention at this point. We had 32 wins (most in the 10v10 bracket, we're now in the 15v15) and they had 40. The clans were close enough not to complain too much.

The issue: The war finished with them not failing a single attack (including TH7s 3 starring TH8s) and averaging over 90% destruction. Every attack on our bases seemed almost too perfect, avoiding bombs, perfect selection of army comp, etc. For instance, one balloonion raid had balloons perfectly bounce to ADs and Wiz Towers with preplaced spells like they KNEW exactly where everything was going to go.

Is it *probably* that they were just really good? Or is it more likely they were using some shady tactics?

After 32 straight war wins, we're still humble enough to know better clans exist. It's simply the manner on which these guys won which makes me wonder; avoiding traps and zero failed attacks.

    first loss

Our first loss was tough to swallow and raised all the same questions you asked. I think they just more experienced and may have seen the bases before. Most war bases are pretty common and just copied anyways. Anyways we learned a lot from our first loss , and improved from it....im sure you will too!

Many bases used in clan wars are very common bases... after playing many wars and attacking a lot, you get very familiar with the common bases. After attacking so many of these common bases, I can easily 3 star the common bases.

The ones I have trouble with are the unique bases I've never seen before; of course provided that the base layout is good and not just randomly put together.

My suggestion would be not to copy common bases... but to design your own. The common bases have been attacked many many times and studied many many times.

some attackers plan out their attacks like this. figuring out where the troops will go, preplanning where to place spells and also assuming where traps may be.

Impossible to be sure. There are some really good raiders out there that take time to plan their attacks including the pathing of troops and gaps do give some indication of the likely location of traps. However, it is perfectly possible they used some shady tactics. There are some that use them, but no one really knows how many.

Zero failed attacks is very common in 10v10 and 15v15 wars.

They probably have really good battle experience, and know how to control their troops. This is not "shady tactics", rather it is effective use of troop AI and using building placement against the defender.
