    Trolling needs conseuqnces!!!

    Greetings everyone,

I've been dealing with a serious issue plaguing our clan and community the past few months. My clan and I have been dealing with trolls who will join our clan, they will wait until we que for a clan war, then leave an hour before it starts. Sadly there is no way to weed them out, because they act like any normal player would, donations, casual friendly talk, and it ultimately causing us to lose viable attacks and potentially the entire war.

This is unacceptable, a timer to prevent them from joining another war is NOT enough. There should be consequences for clan hopping and trolling clans out of attacks in wars. From start to finish, a clan war takes up 48 hours, why is it fair that one person can ruin it for everyone and walk away unscathed?

My intention is not to seclude my clan, but if I have to, I guess I'll just have to keep it within friends and family. Every time we try to branch out, we get burned. Because hey, there aren't any consequences for joining a clan, leaving a clan, joining a clan, leaving a clan.... over and over.

My suggestion would be to add a timer that starts when one joins a clan and if they prematurely leave before the timer finishes, they won't be able to join another clan until the timer is complete. Now I understand if you just joined a clan and it turns out to be a bad situation, it happens. That's where my next idea comes into play, you should have a trial period of a certain amount of time so you can leave without consequences.

Obviously if you get kicked, nothing you can do about that. That would disable any current timer that would've been set upon the player if they had left on their own.

Either way, I've raised awareness with this post and I hope a Supercell enthusiast reads this. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

    *EDIT*

After reading the great additions of the ideas from this thread, I'm going to adjust my post a little by saying this...

How about an implementation of adding clans to your favorites list. Like when you link a bank account to another, you can link clans, with a fair limit of course. That way they could still switch back and forth, if they have multiple clans with friends and family members.

But if they aren't linked, they get punished with a timer. That way, the people who do it on purpose are at least being hit and not walking away unscathed.

Also I suggest that the consequences stop after a certain level account. For instance a level 100 is less likely to pull an antic like this, as opposed to lets say a level 50.

Newest idea added, show how many wars people have abandoned to let others know they might not be trustworthy.

This is a valid point, and the idea could work. But I don't believe this is the BEST solution. What if I stayed for 20 minutes, enjoyed it, and came back after my trial period is over, and found some issues with it? Obviously, there are some issues if this idea were to be implemented.

Also, what if I need to leave to check out other clans in a family? This idea would be a massive hindrance.

For a new member, this is a nice and detailed post. Welcome to the forums! Feel free to object and/or consider what I have said.

    Thanks for the reply!

Your absolutely right, it's probably not the BEST solution, but I think it does highlight a problem for clans, like mine, that are trying to grow and branch out. I have 25 dedicated members, friends and family. Lately we have opened our doors to the outside world and we've welcomed members kindheartedly, just to be stabbed in the back and it has cost us dearly in wars. I have no problem keeping my members at a dedicated 25, but unfortunately not every clan will have that to fall back on.

I completely understand the whole family and checking in issue. Maybe a limit should be added or maybe a favorites list of clans so you can hop between said clans, which has a pending approval by both clans. Kind of like linking a bank account with another account.

But even so, I think it should be looked into for the sake of progression. Trolling is a disease, if not treated right away, it just gets worse and worse.

The problem with finding a solution to this problem is that there are many people who travel between clans for valid reasons. Many members of my clan have friends in other clans. They often ask if they can leave for a few hours to talk to their friends. This is possible even during war as a player can leave and return during war and still participate. Other clans have multiple clans and feeders. Players often move from clan to clan to manage them.
Your idea, like many ideas put forward in the forum on this issue, of course, deal with the issue of trolling, however, they also punish the clans who move between clans for valid reasons. Unless there's a way to distinguish between these two types of players, I don't think it's fair to punish people doing the right thing.

    I agree

I have had the same incident. 10 v 10 war, evrybody left but me. Me against th 9's and th 8's. Unfair. The timer propoasl is great but what if the player chooses NOT to attack in the war. There is nothing you can do about that

What about if it were a punishment imposed by the leader (and/or coleader) of the leaving clan? Of course a leader wouldn't punish a player who was leaving for a valid reason. However, if a troll left during war then the leader could select a button on the players profile through the clan chat. By pressing the button, the leader could impose a punishment of say a 5 day cool down from war or maybe joining another clan. That player could however rejoin the clan they left (in the case that through miscommunication they had no intention of trolling) and participate in the war. The leader could then choose to lift the ban at the end of the war if they feel the player tried to contribute.
This punishment could also be imposed only during war, so it couldn't be a punishment for every person leaving your clan during non-war times.

    Thanks for the replies everyone!

I'm going to adjust my first post a little by saying this...

    Better idea?

I still don't really see why this is needed? It would be more annoying than useful to me.
