    There are two ways to max a base.
    1) Gem it: An expensive but effective technique.
    2) Farm it: A very time consuming but much cheaper alternative.

    There are two ways to farm
    1) Most commonly keep townhall outside to allow for better resource protection and bank on cheap shielding, it is one of the oldest and most effective methods.
    2) Farm with your townhall inside and watch attacks steal your loot as they make an effort to reach your townhall.

    People pushing cups cups like people with townhall outside becuase its free cups.
    People farming like their townhalls outside because its an effective method.
    So what is the problem OP? Why are you different? Why do YOU not like townhalls being used for cheap shields?

    Answer: Premature base, can't be bothered farming, or just wanted to make a thread without thinking.

    I doubt that people would have massive amounts of defended attacks an a lot of resource loss because it would be harder to climb trophies so people would try very hard to 50% (or whatever the new TH start will be). People can design bases that is very easy to barch 50% to get a shield anyways

    Wouldn't a premature base hate this idea? They can't defend their base so they need the cheap shield

    Because of shields, taking out someones outside TH gives the defender a 12h shield. Why do we care? Because it reduces the overall pool of targets to attack. The more targets to attack, the more major (All in) attacks placed, the more overall down time between attacks, the more quality targets for all.
    Nooooooooo bad idea. Farming is 50% of the game maybe more. But if you attack someone to get loot, your shield where break, so its definently balanced. You can raid them instead of sniping them, which some hardcore pushers do. Its balanced, no need to change it.

    Sorry for avoiding it. After gem boosts loot becomes hard to find (for maybe a week) but it always gets easier. Before and after updates, loot becomes hard to find (for a few days on either side) but it always comes back again. When you upgrade to a higher th, until you find an appropriate range, the loot becomes harder to get.

    However, there are deserted bases or "farmable" bases to varying numbers and with varying defences anywhere from 1100 to 2500trophies (that's only based on my experience. I know of people who farm at 3000+). Loot is always there.
    People complain that it's not, but I think those people don't change their trophy range and look for it. Instead they complain (hence the long post you introduced me to).

    I'm saying I have never experience a longer than 1 week loot problem in this game. I don't need it to be easier to get. I'd rather keep it as easier to protect. Changing these two things doesn't make sense (and from what I'm reading more than a lot of people agree with me), and if Th snipers want to benefit from it, so what? They're not hurting anyone.

    You do realise this is unrealistically impratical to implement right?
    First of all, does this make it so you only get 1 and 3 stars from an attack if the TH is on the outside? This means trophy pushers can now abuse this to make it impossible to 2 star (This is even worse in clan wars).

    Secondly, how does the game distinguish a walled th on the corner from a undefended th in a corner? How does it make it clear to the player that destroying the Th will not give a star?

    And if it's supposed to just not give a shield, does that mean farmers now have to lose double the trophys just to get a shield?

    Also what's to stop somebody from just leaving out the least important 50% of buildings outside and then make a super compact core with the th inside it?
