Just did a clan war battle, Got 50% and decided to launch one dragon of mine.

It goes to destroy a level 7 archer tower and after that there was an lvl3 air defense already shooting at the dragon as it got closer and boom! Destroys tower.

I was happy cause I thought it would go for the air defense!

Instead the dumb reptile decides to go across the damn base, PAST the air defense, and try to destroy a clan castle.

    What. The. ****.

No way for SC to fix this or is this just the way dragons are??

I found that most of the time people who complain about certain troop being stupid didn't spend enough time trying to understand their AI at all (again, most of the time, sometimes their complains are legit, like AQ shooting walls for no apparent reason). You have a very powerful troop which breathe fire, very tanky and ignore walls altogether and you expect it to be the smartest thing in the world? What's left there to be played then? Dragons are one of the most predictable troops really. They attack closest building UNLESS they got AGGROed by enemy's CC or skeleton traps. If you know how to create a funnel, you can direct your dragons where you want them to go. That's half the problem tackled. CC is another half of the problem but usually that's not an issue with dragons. CC will come out to meet your dragons and most of them will be incinerated in seconds UNLESS you release ground troops as well and enemy CC have something like babarians or witches (skellies can't attack air troops) in there. Enemy CC start chasing your ground troops, your dragons start chasing enemy CC (AGGROed) and the raid gone from a sure 3-star to sheit.

So yeah. Dragons are fine, and I hate to be that guy but you just need to learn how to use them properly. Create a clear cut funnel. Deal with CC early if you know they're going to ruin your raid. Those two things alone prevent 95% of the fail. Sometimes you still get unlucky, but not that often, though.

    Old topic.

But great reply, that is exactly how Dragons operate.

Hey thanks for catching that. I totally forgot to look at the date, but guess same rules still apply with dragons (with the addition of skeleton traps which pretty much behave like CC troops). Nothing much about dragons have changed since then.
