    "Reserve" feature in clan wars

In addition to the "scout" and "attack" buttons on enemy clan war bases, there should also be a "reserve" button to let clan mates know that you are preparing an army to attack that base.

Many times I find a base with weak air defense, and make an army to attack it, but by the time my troops are ready another clan mate has already destroyed it. I look for another base, but all the others at my level have well-protected air defense, so I am forced to waste an attack on a low-level base.

With a reserve button, this would not happen.

What happens if a base gets reserved and the player never comes on to attack it, now no one can
Sounds extremely unnecessary to me when you can "reserve" attacks by simply having a more organized clan.

Ayema, reserve doesn't prevent other clannies from attacking. It just lets them know that you are planning an attack. If someone doesn't come back, you can still attack it. Another solution might be to for the reservation to expire after 4 hours, which is as long as it should take to cook an army and spells.

I get your point about this being a communication issue, but the problem is the only way to communicate is through clan chat, and some members don't use it, or speak different languages. Also, it is a bit much to expect clan members to scroll through 3 hours of chat to see if anyone is planning to attack base #8. Even if they did scroll through the chat, they won't see it if they were logged out. A reserve button would go a long way in aiding communication between clan members as to who is planning to attack which base.

    Or:
Establish a creed in your clan that members should attack bases that are around their difficulty and are able to get at least 2 stars from. That is what my clan does, and we have lost a small portion of our wars.

    | Town Hall: 9 | Level: 103 |
    IGN: Oatmeal | Clan Tag: #Q2C9GC2 | War Log: 337wins/67losses |
    | Clan Level: 12 |
    | GG: 160M | EE: 177M | HH: 504K | FIN: 40.8K | War Stars: 722 |

I meant communication as in a system for war attacks. (First few hours attack your rank, then attack +/- whatever the number of your rank) no need to reserve anything if everyone knows what to do.

either way this idea seems unnecessary to me, if your clan is organized enough theres absolutely no need for it. And I dont understand why you would have someone who doesn't speak the language of everyone else in your clan

This doesn't work due to resources. You can't say "Attack your exact rank," because you need elixer to attack bases with weak air defense, and dark elixer to attack bases with strong air defense. So, let's say I just started upgrading my hogs and don't have much dark. I need to do an air-based attack. But then the player at my rank has maxed-out air defense, and they are all well-protected. I may/may not be able to two star him without hogs, so I need to find better target. So then we need a system that allows you to attack a few bases higher or lower. But once we start doing that, people start attacking bases others are cooking for, and the player who got there 2nd may find her army useless. A simple button to click, to notify my clannies that I am already planning to attack that base so they should find a different one, would totally solve this problem.

Because we are an open clan. Anyone who wants to can join. We don't kick people just because they speak a language other than English.

Great idea man! Maybe you can reserve one base during prep day. You don't really need to reserve your second raid.

    Thumbs Up Way to go!

There are a zillion of ways to crash a rigid system of assigning bases in Clan Wars (paddyflynn explains one well). We tried countless systems of assigning bases in Clan Wars and all failed miserably. It is so much simpler to reserve bases. To reserve bases, many suggest using 3rd-party tools: we use a web app currently, but it added too many layers of management to the game, which reduced the fun, and put off good players who didn't have much time to play (they ended up leaving the clan due to the bureaucracy!). Surely we need more thinking about how exactly a reservation feature should work (e.g. can people still attack a reserved base? do reservations expire? reservations for both attacks? only on prep day? etc...), but as a general idea, it's the way to go!
