Great accomplishment!

I wish they would create an alternate tournament system like march madness for basketball. I imagine it being a bracket system where at the start of each season clan leaders could opt in and there clan would have all there wars staged back to back throughout the season based on number of players and matchmaking rank. There would be some kinks like the fairness of matchmaking and how many people would be put into each bracket? Could there maybe be leagues based on previous tournament success? Idk.
The problem is that I don't see supercell doing anything that won't make them profits. So how will this make them profits? Well on the plus side, I know people gem out troops for wars. On the negative side, many people may stop trophy pushing to do this and that will cost sc a ton of lost profits. If they do something like this they will probably make it so that there are short windows to attack so that competitive players will gem everything out like how they push. Which kind of begs the question.... why would supercell bother listening to any of us? There are enough trophy pushers out there to keep them rich and every time they add a troop or building its a huge payday. They have no reason to make the game better because it is good enough. So why I quoted T1girr, you are right that clash of clans could be vastly improved but will those improvements make them money to justify it? Clan wars are flippin awesome but did they make supercell any money? I don't actually know but I don't think so. They might view clan wars as a failure while we view clan wars as the biggest success of the game.
I don't think it's quite so bad as you are saying. Supercell knows that the popularity of the game as a whole brings them profit. Creating a better clan war system will not bring them direct cash, but it will indirectly if the changes they make are good.
I don't think the problem is greed, I think it is ignorance and lack of vision. They don't realize what they created.

To add to what T1girr said above and your comment on gemming out troops for war, there are tons of people who will spend lots of their gems to finish the hero build time. They, myself included, will not gem the de itself cause that is easy enough to earn, but to be without your royals for three wars, that can be rough without aiming low or only being able to count on two stars. We will still spend money.

That is definitely my opinion but it is based on observation. I don't know a whole lot about the supercell team but I've seen other games that are lower profit but get much more attention. Like the game warframe, every month they are adding things to the game, constantly fixing things every week and making the game more enjoyable in general. I don't see sc making as many changes like that or trying that hard. I agree with you that it probably isn't greed but more likely a side effect of success. Contentment. I don't think they are pushing themselves to make the game better because there isn't much motivation. I also think they are ignorant but not intentionally. There connection to the community is through chief pat, galadon, godson, daddy and a handful of other entertainers. Those guys are pretty into trophy pushing and they treat clan wars as being cool but I don't think they are making super cell aware of the popularity of clan wars.

I would definitely expect it from many high win clans. Not really any particular clan on this leaderboard, but asian clans that already ghost and ♥♥♥♥ would exploit this.
When SC created clan wars, they didn't want to factor in skill in anyway it seems. Doubt they will change that policy.
