Not sure what to call it

This isn't really an issue more of a suggestion, for the people that cant gem crazy like some of the other people, but say my town hall is going to level 8 and it costs say 750 gems to finish it but I only have 100, could you think of a way to let me use those gems, all 100 of them on my town hall and have it take a portion of the time off. If that makes sense

So, you mean like...
Example:
A building is upgrading, It's 50 hours left on it.
If you wanna finish the whole building, you have to use 500 gems.
If you only have 100 gems and use them there will be 50-10=40 hours left?
Is that what you mean?

hum, i don't know, instead of having to pay for the missing gems you could just use the gems you have to take away time on the buildings construction... so, supercell would ultimately lose money right? please correct me if i misunderstood your idea.

I'm off my Chair right now. It's a new idea to me, and I have seen all of it. Something that finally has hardly or never been suggested before, neat and not ruled out (for now)

So, you mean like...
Example:
