What I'm thinking is a single player but instead of attacking the goblins, you have to defend against the goblins.
There wouldnt be any ai determining where to put the troops but instead, fixed points marked by a skull or something(same troops will ALWAYS be deployed in the same place)
The defence campaign will also give you, your own independent villiage much like clan wars.
When you are being attacked by the goblins by clicking "defend" on some screen, you get to create troops to put in your clan castle, but instead of the clan castle auto deploying, you can control when it starts and stops. Traps can also be controlled via some buttons onscreen. This new defense feature basically allows players to control their villiage in a fun way.
The first level would be easy, maybe 100-150 goblins. Going up the hardest level of maybe 20 golems or something.
The reward for completing one of the levels would be gems and xp. The first level might have 200 xp and no gems, while the last level rewards 10000xp and 500 gems.
If you lose the defense by one star, you only get 66% of the possible rewards. if you lose by two, you get 33% of the possible reward. if you lose by the full three stars, you get no reward.
I think this should be a fun addition to the game to keep people playing for a while because you need to test out each level to find out where the troops will come from and design your base to fit that level.
Im sure you could find some way to integrate this into a multiplayer pov, but for now I think this is a great idea.
