I normally use 9 giants, 9 WBs, 15 barbs, 45 archers, and the rest goblins to farm. You will notice me using that composition quite often in my offensive videos. I used that exact army all the way up to 2000's. However, in 2000+, I'm finding myself running shorts on DPS v. dual X-bows, so I've been raiding with a few more archers and barbs, and less goblins.

I'm stuck between two layouts. I don't know which one to use. Junliang's layout or Pingfao's layout. Both are good and have advantages and hardly any disadvantages.

Well, let me summarise the pros and cons for you

Junliang layout
Pros:
-Very impossible to get 4 gold/de storage.
-Balance distribution of gold/de, unless(tbc at cons)
-Balance distribution of splash, with 3 splash per corner.

Cons:
-Resource distribution will be slightly bias towards DE side if your DE exceeds 20k+, meaning more people will attack there. But your gold is safe.
-8 secondary core, meaning optimised for 2AD design, having a 3rd AD might have negative effect.
-Wiz and mtr together, might get triple zap by lightning. But so far i only received such attack only once, and lost 2 gold storage only.

Target:
0-1 gold/de vs weak-average attacker
0-2 gold/de vs strong attackers
0-3 gold/de vs outstanding attackers/trophy hunting army
No 4 gold/de loss.

Pingfao layout
Pros:
-More Anti-wb emphasis, as compared to mine. Think of it as Dodge vs Block. Mine just stagger junction + spring.
-More centralised gold/de, meaning harder for people to get more than 1 gold. Though similar theory as mine.
-Better with 3rd AD, as compared to mine
-Can convert to hybrid

Cons:
-Compact gold/de, lightning strike is a problem.
-Compact gold/de means an outstanding attack/ trophy hunting army higher chance to get all 4 gold/de
-Splash tower coverage not as great, as they are more spread out.

But yeah, both are great, and we have both move on to another design already

Make a triangle around whatever you want to protect in the middle. Overlap your defenses so all of the fields of fire are covered.
