Why Max Out?

This. TH7 is a great place to be. If you can resist the urge to immediately get DE troops, you can upgrade/research relatively quickly from raiding profits. I'm at TH7, and with minimal raids, I've always got loot when my next worker comes available. I'd be loaded if I raided often. You should be at least Silver III to find decent loot. What's great is there are so many poor TH6 base designs is that the moment you bust a wall you get all giddy and say with an evil laugh, "All your base are belong to me!"

I usually raid anyone with around 100k of each resource because it's so easy and I use minimal troops, so the ROI (return on investment) is fairly high. You can try and blow your whole load on 200k (each) resources, that is if you can actually get them all, or you can go for a very efficient 100+k (each) raid and get back at it very quickly, without boosting. At one point, I raided 7 times in one hour. And I never use dragons. It's that easy at TH7.

So, truth be told, if you gem your way to TH8, you won't know how to attack a base because you have very little experience at it, and at some point, you will fall flat on your face. Take your time and enjoy the game.

I'm a th6 and maxed on all defences, but walls. Im about halfway done maxing my walls. Only have one barracks and one spell left to max along with a few mines and pumps. Every bloody night I get three starred by a lvl 8, 9, or 10 th. They get little, and I do mean very little, loot. It's always less than 10000 combined. One dude attacked for less than 1500 combined. He didn't even earn back a wall breaker. So yes smaller townhalls do come up quite readily in search, but I'm thinking only morons attack them. I haven't been attacked at someone my level since I upgraded to 6. The nice thing though is I get16 hours to collect and spend before some moron decides he has too much elixer and must go throw it at my village

That's actually amazing. On my first account I didn't even realize level 6 giants existed until I was th 8. I was basically never attacked by 2 th higher when I was th 6, 7, 8.

But as the attacker, presumably if you are farming (and intelligent) you won't bother smashing a base for no real loot. So losing th 6s in the queue by upgrading to th 8 is not a big loss in my eyes.

Max first, including everything in your lab to use the elixir, max your barracks while your at it.. Get used to having to much elixir as at TH8 you will constantly be overflowing in it. TH8 has a ton of cash heavy defensive upgrades. Most of them have to be upgraded twice on top of the new building/walls you have to do. WT/cannons/AT are all twice. Tesla needs upgraded three times. Definitely have your AD's maxed before moving up. TH7 is cake compared to the TH8 grind. This game isn't a race to TH10 but a marathon so go slow and take your time or you'll make TH8 even more tedious.

Is it just me who finds it difficult to take anyone that says "your" when they mean "you are" seriously? Sorry, but if you can't grasp basic English, I doubt you'll do much better with semi complex maths.

Get splash, camps and farming troops/spells maxed, then go up a TH, by the time you're ready to do that your def should all have +1 on. TH9 is by far the best place to grind your skull, lego and lava walls and to let your drills flood you with de. A maxed Th8 is cake for Th9 Loonions (or several other comps), however a new Th9 with 4 central AA, an xbow or two and AQ? Not so much.

I went to th8 recently similar to you (One defence level below max (Lvl7 arch towers, Lvl4 mortars, lvl3 wizard towers and lvl3 air defence) apart from cannons which were) and I'm finding it ok. It sounds like I had more pink walls than you have though so you need to upgrade those. It is your choice. Also by the way max the troops you use as that will also help you at th8.

Now here's the catch :



I think you missed the concept.
You upgrade because you have nothing to progress on your base anymore.
Why would you to TH 8 with underleveled defenses? Level 5 WB one shots gold walls. You will be picked very, very often and you will have harder time folding your supposedly more powerful army against TH 7 because you can't loot TH 6 anymore.

Most people here who rushed their town halls has plenty of time. By plenty, i mean a lot so that it doesn't really matter rushing because we always loot back what was stolen from us.
As for me i was level 26 TH 6, i was level 38 TH 7, i was level 55 TH 8 and i was level 74 TH 9.
Every time i go premmie my walls are completely maxed out. I have nothing else to do, why would i wait on upgrading collectors, cannons, ATs, bombs, and teslas?

I'm similar to you can't remember when I went to th6 was a lv40 Th7 (Or 39 started upgrading at 37) and got to th8 at lvl55 (Started upgrade at 53) However i don't max walls I focus on defences (Don't max but close) because I think that they are more important than walls.

Are your collectors maxed out (especially the gold mines)? if they are, the farming community would welcome you with open arms my friend!
