Game doesn't take that long at all. I've played other games where the grind is way worse. This game you have a fourteen day upgrade, start it and go do something else. Other games you got to get a level up you stare at your character doing the same motion for six hours a day.

What's wrong with kids these days? I remember when I was a kid, games were impossible to beat (remember Battletoads and Ninja Gaiden anyone?). Now, when my kid (yes, I'm old) gets a game, he beats it in 3-6 hours and is done. If he can't, he complains that it is too hard.

To the OP, you can't rely on just your collectors after TH5, so either start raiding (barch is best) or find another game to play. The game takes a lot of time to get to the end (maxed TH10) because the developers don't want you downloading it and uninstalling it in the same day because it got boring to beat it over and over (pun somewhat intended).
