I think it have to be like 20 because someone could attack you being a th7 but use like 7 total spells on u it be op

id sayif this did happen that you should be required to have a high level clan castle maybe 4 or 5 and there be a seperate slot for the defensive spell. Instead of it taking troop space it takes a spell slot. so at a certain clan castle level you can hold a certain amount of spells. following up that they dont activate when ur village is defending and that they show up in a seperate slot while your attacking so u can use the spells as you please during an attacking so forth as to not be dropped in the location that you place your clan troops because then they would just be useless.

I like it.

I think it should be 25 spaces because it costs a lot. And the shield that drops when you deploy CC troops will spin and drop down when you tap on the unit you want to attack. And then it will land and dissolve into the item and then the spell will come from the air a few seconds after...

Not sure if ruled out...

Anyway: there are no defensive spells, so it can't work on defense.
Deploying it with the CC troops would put it in a not useful position.
More spells would be OP.
