GEMS! I'm about to come into a stockpile of 28,000 gems! How should I spend them?

Hey guys, I'd love any and all advice I can get on where best to use these gems. It's my birthday and I just received word that my aunt and uncle will be sending me iTunes gift cards this year. $200 worth to be exact (I have a big family.)

My clan name (it's just me and two buddies) is 'AR Crushers' - and my name is dkurtz1
I'll be the first to admit that I did rush to TH10 but now I'm committed to improving the rest of the defense, walls, etc. to catch up to it. I'm also way high on cups right now because I'm pushing to Champion to get the achievement. Then I plan on dropping back down to somewhere around GoldII to farm and join a proper clan.

Please give me some advice about where to best spend these gems to improve the overall balance of my base.

There have been a variety of responses but the majority have been;

heroes
defense
boosts

So I just got the iTunes cards and already burned through all the gems!

HERE IS WHAT I DID:
Wiz Towers - had 3@lvl4 and 1@lvl5 - TOOK ALL WIZ TOWERS TO LVL 6
Teslas - had 4@lvl2 - UPGRADED TO LVL 3, but didn't gem them to completion (now using 4/5 builders)
Xbow - had 9 days left to upgrade to lvl2, gemed that to completion.
Dragons - went from lvl 2 to lvl 3
Goblins - went from lvl 4 to lvl5
Cannons - had 3@lvl8 and 3@ lvl9 - Upgraded so now i have 4@lvl9 and 2@lvl10
Archer Queen - upgraded to lvl3 (only used a few hundred gems on her to grab the remaining DE) (using my 5th builder)


Yea so that's how quickly gems can go fellas. It doesn't seem like much when you write it all out like that. The Wiz towers where the biggest expense because I was so far behind on them and didn't want them all down at once for days on end while waiting for builders. They cost about 9k gems. Teslas were another ~7k gems, Gob and Dragons upgrades totaled ~9.5k.

If anybody disagrees with how I spent them, I don't really care to hear about it becuase it's too late now! If you're somehow who thinks geming time is a waste than you don't know how impatient of a man I am. And I think we can all admit how hard it is to hold onto gems, especially large quantities of gems.

i'd honestly, gem ur time on heroes...
like forget gemming resources, farm up the DE, but then gem time on heroes, start with AQ, since imo she is the better hero since the update.
ofc dont gem 100% of the time, gem the time when u farm up enough de for next upgrade.

u can regular farm other defs and walls, as u should, but this game is all about offense, and high lvl hero's are what make the difference (after u incorporate intelligent playing)

inferno tower lv 3 is a nice one i think, besides ur splash damage is kinda weak.

Along the same lines, if you want to build fast (as you need to) boost boost boost.

Right now your base is a weakling to heavier TH9 and even TH8 players. Due to loot bonus, they will hit you all.day.long. (I know I would!) boosting your barracks will allow you to get a solid 2 hours of loot running in so you can get upgrades quickly.

Get the infernos asap, then xbows. They are a great resource to keep pesky farmers off your loots while you catch up everything else.

Just having multi target inferno will solve 50% of defenses and Gemming on heroes will be good choice because they are free to use.

The first thing you NEED to do with your gems is get all 5 builders. It will help you a bunch to upgrade your stuff faster, and since you are a pre th10 it will be even more beneficial to you. Then with the rest I would recommend just boosting your barracks, so you will be able to raid so much faster therefore getting more loot. And then maybe upgrading your heroes, or upgrading defenses like inferno towers or xbows.

Haha I'm just from a big family is all. Otherwise I'd never expect anything as nice as this.

I will gem that inferno and use the rest for daily boost. Imho boosting is the best way to utilize gems.
