    Successful Defense gives war win bonus for Clan War

    Posted this on reddit and the only feedback was some idiot saying it could be abused, but failed to explain how/why.

    Having a successful defense during a clan war can be huge. I think adding maybe 1/4 of whatever they would get for a successful attack to your war win bonus would be great.

    I have liked the idea of rewarding the defender loot, whether it is from Clan Wars or regular raiding. .25 of the available loot for a successful attack seems fair. I think awarding "Most Heroic Attacker/Defender" should also be included. Perhaps, they get double the loot of whatever they made...?

    While it would be nice to reward people who design their war base well, it's unfair to people who designed really well since they won't get attacked at all. Also there's a lot of luck involved since people who defended well might have gotten it because they were the lowest base without stars so they got attacked a lot by weak attackers. Or it might simply be that some strong players decided to crush some really well designed base but low TH level base

    You could fix the first problem by giving unattacked bases the same or more bonus than what the highest defense bonus was for the clan but the other 2 issues remains

    I do not really see this to be an issue. The reward should remain between the two that are in the battle. You should not reward a person for not doing anything. It is all about choice and being picked on who you want to fight. If they do not choose you, then that is just too bad. Because for those unfair Clan War matches where the opposing team has way more stronger players than your clan, you know that your team will not even try to waste an attack on their top tier because it will fail. Which means all of those top tier folks will get bonus for not being attacked and that would be unfair to me.

    They are doing something. They're protecting their own 3 stars by intimating attackers away. While it helps that someone is taking a lot of hits, that has limited value when some stronger guy wouldn't be phased by those hits. The top guys are probably the guys doing donations in most wars too, excluding ones with only TH9/10 members

    I like this idea, but agree that those bases that don't get attacked should also be rewarded.

    Lightbulb Successful Defenders Deserve War Loot!

    Forget the awards, the initial idea here is the important one - Successful defenses DESERVE EARNINGS, especially in a Clan War! Many times now I've seen moderate players give a major assist to their own clan by denying the opponent up to 3 stars with a thoughtfully designed, repeatedly undefeated base. Yet when they earn only 48% or less on each of their own attacks, they walk away from a "successful" war with nothing to show for it!
    Defense is 50% of this game... Why does a clever one earn 0% of the loot? Or LESS in regular battle, since we have to pay for rearming every time we get hit.
    In the search for a rival clan to war against, each Clan members' ability to defend is added and calculated equally (as far as I can tell) along with their offensive abilities before comparing the totals with clans of equal size who are also seeking a war - Supercell obviously considers both skills to be equally important here. And during war, there is no limit to the number of opponents who may attack you - even if they can only earn a maximum of 3 stars for your defeat. Denying your opponent those 3 stars while simultaneously wasting any number of their precious, limited attacks, contributes just as much to winning as the maximum 6 stars you can earn for a good offense. And yet those players get nothing for their contributions. What's the deal??

    Perhaps the most heroic defence should get additional loot bonus but I think other than this it can be abused.

    Example:

    Farmer Joe War Clan vs Farmer Bloggs War Clan

    Delegate sent to opponent war clan hey dudes stick your storages outside and we'll just forty percent you or lower and we'll do the same.

    Hence people get loot bonus and defence bonus miinimal effort and back to back wars always. All Goblin raids would yield ludicrous farming results.

    Question Clarify?

    I can't imagine why or how that kind of abuse would work ironagedave, but maybe I don't fully understand what you're suggesting... Or visa versa.

    What I'm suggesting is that a participant on the WINNING clan should receive some small portion of loot if their base was attacked during war but not defeated - even if their own offensive attempts (which should be a requirement I think, this added loot award becoming void if that person makes no attempts) happen to fail. Perhaps their portion could be a small skim off the top of other winners' loot as payment for their contribution, plus a fare share of any bonus. Because the fact is: the winning clan may not have won if a different player with a lesser base would have participated instead, even if the others had still won the same number of stars. A good defense contributes a lot to a war win!

    That said, it wouldn't make sense for people to scheme as you suggested - your always going to get more for winning an attack/ war than for throwing one.
