Just the idea of removing trophy's in general is a terrible idea. I think it should be more along the line's of keeping trophy's but if a player is 10-20 level's higher or lower than you an attack should not be allowed. But the issue is what about player's who are level's 160+... The raid's would be so repetitive and it would just become uninteresting.

Then conceivably, there could be a TH7 or 8 in the number one position because they would be effectively immune to attacks on their way up, and more importantly, once they got there.

For the record, unfortunately this forum is dominated by people who benefit from the trophy system. Many of them are doing exactly what you are annoyed about, and therefore this idea will not get any headway around here.

I have a pretty solid base. If I had to attack my base, I know id have to use war level troops to beat it. If I had to attack just basis in my range, level 93, I'd never get enough loot to upgrade because I'd be spending it on raids

This would destroy everyone's ability to get loot. Even a TH7 looks for either lower TH or generally weaker TH7 to raid. No one raids people of their equal unless loot is of no concern.

Trophies are fine. Its a privilege to be able to farm in lower leagues than you belong in. Once you are able to farm in lower leagues, i am sure you will, you'll love the idea!

Starting the the game is the hardest part. Once you get to.... About th7 and max it, youre with the majority of the players in the game.
