How to use P.E.K.K.A?

I just got pekkas, and I wan't to learn how to effectively use them! I am training an army of 3 pekkas, 5 wb's, 45 barbs, and the rest archers. CC has a dragon. How should I attack, and what are some other army comps for th8? (I don't have golem)

I wouldn't use 3 Pekka with only 200 space, it's not worth it, use only 2. Instead of the barbs I'd use giants as they can act as cheap alternatives to golems, maybe 12 or so. Then maybe 6-8 WB and rest archers. Lay down half your giants in a line near the side you want to attack so they draw fire, then set down enough archers behind them to take down the outer buildings fast. Send in some WB and the rest of your giants to break into the first layer and after the outer buildings near the breach are gone you can send in your pekka. Don't forget to use more WB to breach deeper into the base as needed, and use a heal spell to keep the giants alive longer

Bottom line: don't use them yet. barch/BAM to get your dark barracks to level 4.

You could do a poormans GoWiPe...basically 4 pekkas, ~15 wiz, ~9 WBs, a few giants, and random stuff for castle luring/killing. the giants would serve as a very brief meat shield to let the wizards do a side clear so you can drill with WBs and direct pekkas into the core

The problem is low level pekkas are not survivable. while they are a heavy troop and hybrid DPS/tank, the truth is their health is nothing compared to a golem's total HP and you'll take a huge hit on attack capability without golems because wizards are the best DPS source in the game and golems keep them alive.

the other issue you'll find is that level 5 giants are pretty useless. A giants/pek/wiz is OK, esp. to save dark elixir IF you have level 6 giants only.

I have personally found that a 3:1 pek/golem mix is much worse than a 2:2 mix when you are at the 200 troop level. thus you really need to use more than just pekkas alone for tanking troops

You don't have to use P.E.K.K.A's with Golems or giants, WiPe is a perfectly good strategy in it's own right at TH8 (can't comment for for higher TH levels).

To use the pekka effectively you need to clear the surrounding buildings and guide the pekka to where you want to it go. Its advisable not to lure the CC or heroes if they are centralised or standing close to what you want attack (de storage or TH for example) as they will help steer your pekka in the right general direction.

I personally go for 5 lvl3 pekkas (including one in the CC), 20 lvl 5 wizards, 10 lvl 5 wallbreakers, 2 lvl 5 rage, 1 lvl 5 heal, and the lvl 10 BK.

Your base selection is crucial when using this army, you should go for bases with very few compartments and centralised CC/heroes (Anti-hog bases generally fall under this category).

Deployment really depends on the base and the surrounding buildings, if there aren't surrounding buildings outside the base I want to attack I will normally deploy all pekkas in that area to help soak some fire quickly deploy 10 wizards behind them in a fanned out formation (to take out either surrounding buildings or defence structures hitting your pekkas on the other side of the wall), deploy 2-3 wallbreakers depending on the wall level (this deployment is done very fast normally in less than 4 seconds), then after they breach the first layer go for the next deployment of wallbreakers and then throw down a heal (depending on the health of the pekkas, and especially since this is when the CC is triggered) followed by the rest of the wizards, BK and a rage when they get close to the core and are about to be attacked by cc/heroes, then rage again when they are in the core to destroy either the TH or DE storage you were aiming for.

I always train a 50% Pekka and 50% Dragon army before I go to bed and use them on revenge raids
