since the update supercell has basically turned the heroes into a defensive tower and i think that since they are a defensive tower the troops that attack defenses should be able to attack the heroes when they trigger the heroes to start attacking them

If they were made defensive, you wouldn't be able to raid with them. Therefore, they have not made them defensive.

First of all this has been suggested a few times before. Also, like the post before this stated, Heroes are not defenses. This is all part of clash of clans strategy and people will have to get used to the update.
