You made the choice to play this game. Supercell is in no way forcing you to pay by playing.
Suggest how Supercell could change this game so that there is no pay-to-win, they still make good money, and the game can function effectively.

I wouldn't say that a system that makes a species destroy itself and everything else around it is "working well" in my opinion at least.
on topic:OP I don't think we can blame supercell for putting profits first, it's the nature if the beast and I don't think we would have such a high quality game without it. If the pay to play business model offends you that much I really don't see why you would play such games let alone be spending time on these forums.

I did a double take when I read this. Are you just trolling or are you trying to seriously suggest that because people are playing Clash of Clans and spending money because they are too impatient to wait a couple of days of building time that the whole of our species is now threatening to destroy itself!? I think a lot of people who have posted saying that gems are ruining the game have to take a look at other games and think how different are they. There are MMORPG's that can be played online that people pay for memberships each month and still spend more on in-game money and weaponry. The vast majority of app-store games that are available to download, free or otherwise, also contain the features to skip levels, buy in-game currency and items. I, quite frankly, think that many people are either too angry and annoyed at the high level players, too angry with not having enough money to buy gems themselves or too angry with Supercell to realize that this is not an uncommon way of setting up a game. In fact over 95% of games give the player the ability to buy in-game items and currency with similar results.
Saying that Supercell has produced a game that is destroying our species is absurd. You are acting as though Clash of Clans is the one game that has this type of game-play and should be instead giving everyone free gems so that everyone can be top players. Everyone saying that Supercell is doing a bad job and only care about money needs to wake up. Yes they do care about money but they do not do a bad job. Take the 2nd anniversary gem boost. You got twice the amount of resources in that week than normal and still complain! In addition those that say that gems are really hard to collect in-game simply need to remove more of their natural spawns. I, on average, get around 5 gems a day which adds up to 35gems a week which is 1820gems per year, not even counting the gem boxes. Sure this is not a lot to boost your base hugely but the point is that you still gain gems and can use these for the gem boosts, if you need a little more elixir or gold, or to cut the upgrade time. And the fact of the matter is that this is done by Supercell for a purpose. Just imagine is everybody was a TH10 with maxed defenses and walls because Supercell gave away 10,000gems for their anniversary and there were free gems that just rained from the sky. That game would be unbelievably boring because there would be no variance between bases.
In the end it all comes back to one point. If you want to buy gems then go ahead but don't get angry with Supercell because they won't supply you with free gems.
Tinkerbell, (or any moderator) please close this thread. The original post had no value and it has degenerated into some sort of debate about the survival of the human species being compromised by the financial success of the video game industry. Nothing good can come from this discussion.
Thanks,
You just now realized this?
Anyways, they made an official announcement, posted in a different thread. They won't be changing this anytime soon.
There are plenty of large multi billion dollar corporations out there that have that title and Supercell is FAR from it.
You mention it several time but I don't think you truly understand it. This is a FREE to play game. If they really wanted to be greedy, they'd implement a $10 monthly fee, I bet many of you would pay it rather than lose your game. This has been THE best mobile gave I've ever played.
I don't think you realize what "Pay to Win" really means. Having a Free to Play game with premium currency does not make this pay to win. Pay to win games are games that have premium items that give you an advantage in competition that can only be received through the purchase with real money. Such games would have that special super dooper BFG that kills everything in one shot.
This item is not available by F2Players and must be purchased. Thus PAID to win. Everyone in CoC is capable of have the best base and the best troops - it either cost you time or money - but it's available to everyone.
Class Action Lawsuit? Talk about promotion of frivolous litigation.
If a company can be sued for taking advantage of the human psyche, we'd all be in jail. That's the whole concept of Marketing!
There is absolutely nothing wrong with making money from impatient people. Otherwise, our own government would be going to jail for something as simple as a Toll Road that costs money but saves you an hour taking the longer route.
I suppose McDonald's should be sued too for taking advantage of human natures desire to stay alive. How dare they dangle food in front of a hungry persons face! THE NERVE!
I'm an adult professional. I haven't spent many gems. I'd say about $30 worth between two accounts and a year of playing. Mostly for builders. They haven't forced me to spend anymore than I am comfortable spending. If you are spending money on a mobile game instead of rent, something is definitely wrong with you and you should quit. That's not supercell's fault that some people have no self control.
Isn't there an empty tent over at Occupy Wall Street you need to get back to?
