I know that as you gain levels and try to gain the necessary resources for upgrades you eventually only really need one of your resources. This is why I think that there should be some kind of converter. Maybe a feature or a building. But either way I think there should be a way to convert elixir into gold and vice versa. The ratio doesn't have to be and probably should be 1:1.
