I use lots of spells. I also use my elixir for more expensive armies to practice for war and for the inevitable push up when tier 1 troops will no longer cut it. And if I am a target for someone taking an elixir storage, I don't sweat it.

If it were me, id use the extra elixir to build more powerful troops and help the upgrades along rather than jumping up.

Elixir waste be damned... get to at least skulls, preferably legos. Or else all the other TH10 boys will laugh at the purple walls, they're mean like that.
Upgrade the two barracks to lvl 10.
