    Post Upgrade helping

If you voted "It won't work," PLEASE post why. Even a sentence or a two is greatly appreciated. (And please, read the post before voting.)

I would like "upgrade helping" system in Clash of Clans.

Basically, if you upgrade something, other clan members can "help" the upgrade.

    Restrictions:
    • A "New" clan member should not be able to receive any "helps," nor should they be able to "help" others (to avoid hoppers getting "helps").
    • Each person should only be able to help a person once a week.
    • A "help" has a cost, which is determined by the cost of the original upgrade. (20% or more (perhaps gems, but nobody would help if it cost gems))
    • One have no way to help a person again in less than a week (or it requires a lot of gems).
    • If somebody who got "helps" gets kicked, unless he is invited back in 12 hours (to prevent accidental kicks), all helps are reduced to 0.1%.

For example, if "A" helps "B" with building a wizard tower today:
    • "A" can also help "C" with upgrading army camp.
    • "A" can help "D" with upgrading barracks.
    • "A" cannot help "B" with building a mortar until next week.

A "help" should decrease the upgrade time by 0.2%, which means if if everybody in a clan with 50 members help you (which means 49 people help you), the upgrade would take (1 - 0.2/100)49 = 90.66% of the actual time.

Does this sound like a good idea?

P.S. Many people hop around clans (to get cc troops), and this system would decrease the numbers of hoppers (Why hop if you get boosts?) (Again, the game's name is Clash of Clans). Yes, people would have to wait until their "New" signs goes away, but hey, if you wait 1-2 weeks, you get upgrade boosts!

    Current issues
    Issue Solution
This is resource sharing Resource sharing is prohibited because it can: (these come from here)

    • Enable transferring resources between shield accounts (The main reason)
    • Make possible to sell game money (gold & elixir)
    • Decrease the profit of Supercell
    • Posts that only say something like "But resource sharing is prohibited" will be ignored. Know the reasons why resource sharing is prohibited and why this is an exception.

This system does not apply to any of these (maybe the third, but the system can be modified that it wouldn't affect supercell's profit.)
In fact, more people would play CoC if this feature gets added. (More features that require helping others = players would refer CoC to others = ??? = profit)
It boosts the upgrading speed too much. If a person can help only once a week, it will not make people advance too fast. It will advance people's upgrading speed just a little bit faster (100-90=10% is not a big percentage; a 7 day upgrade will take 6 days 7 hours and 12 minutes - 4 hours 48 minute decrease).
    People can make bots
    • It would take a long time to make 49 bots, and they would need 49 devices (or 49 virtual machines; almost impossible, though) to run the bots.
    • It would be impossible for the bots to help others due to the cost. (Especially when the bots' only source of gold/elixir is from mines and collectors. Not to mention, they get raided as well)
    • People in clans with bots would not be able to receive any good troops and participate in clan wars with a lot of loot (and the person would have to attack the enemy clan (at least 50 times) all by himself in order to win and get loot).
    • People in clans with bots would not be able to chat with other clan members.
It would remove the mini-clans Yes it would, but not in a sense of people ending up in different clans. People would merge their clans and make friends with others. It would bring clan members closer to each other as well!

Please post on this thread if there is any tweaks I should make on this "help" system (or why this system wouldn't work).

    Edit Log:
    Edit 1: Added GrizRule's tweaks.
Edit 2: Added my clan members' tweaks.
Edit 3: Changed 0.5% boost to 0.2% boost due to complains about numbers being too high.
Edit 4: Removed level requirements, since the cost of the "helps" would restrict people from helping people that have high levels.
    Edit 5: Added Chart
Edit 6: Chart updated with information from Dahimi's ideas forum posting guide

Great Idea - Could use some tweaking

I personally think this would be a great way to develop clans and bring members closer to each other.

I do think there should be some tweaking done to this idea...

    1. There should be a cost for helping. For example, if A wanted to help B with a barrack upgrade, let's say to level 9, there should be a cost for A to help. Maybe 10% of the original upgrade cost? That would mean 1.5 million to upgrade for B, and 150k elixir for A to help.

    2. What if the clan does not want B? Maybe when B is kicked, all "helps" are reduced to 0.5%? This would have to be thought upon though. "Accidental" kicks could be a way to abuse this feature. A way to fix "accidental" kicks could be to increase the "helps" back to 1% IF AND ONLY IF B is invited back within 12 hours. But by invite only. Another addition I would add would to be record the time of the invite and not the acceptance of the invite. So someone could invite B back within 12 hours of the kick and if B does not accept until a day later, B can still get those "helps" back because he was invited within 12 hours.

I really hope that this idea is taken into consideration by the dev team, I really think this could work with some balancing.

That sounds good. I did not think about kicking a clan member. And, there should definitely be a cost for "helping." (5-10% would be good)

May I ask what wouldn't work in "help" system? I realized 10 people voted "No," but almost nobody commented why. I would appreciate it if you tell me why.

Those "mini-clans" are a lot more tight knit than the huge ones, so you system wants to remove them?

Helping involves an exchange of Resources.

Resource sharing has been ruled out.

Yes, but not in a sense of people ending up in different clans. This would encourage people to "merge" their clans & have a bigger community.

No, sir. It doesn't share resources. Please read my post again.

This is a relatively interesting idea/post.

I agree with Axion. Although gold / elixir / dark elixir is not involved, time is. Time is a resource.

This idea is also rather similar to putting multiple builders onto one upgrade- getting help from people is a little like borrowing their builder.
