Better gold for th 8 in silver and gold or in crystal?

I'm th7 in silver I. The loot doesn't seem very rich.

crystal = 3 stars 90% of the time unless a th9 decides to th snipe you for a free shield because you got no gold and de or another th8 finds

crystal is the best imo, but then again, i javent been below crystal in the past 3 months as its a req for my clan lol
