These bases are getting so big and strong it's taking longer to get through them.
I don't think the time has changed since the start of the game.

It's unfortunate to work your way through a base to be on the verge of a 3 star victory and the only thing that stops you is time. Time should still be there but should be adjusted according to the many advancements of the game.

That would make attacking way more op than it already is. Part of the strategy is trying to take out the base in under 3 minutes.

This is true, troops have become bigger and stronger also, thus keeping the 3 minute match in balance.

Upgrade your heroes further if you need more power, or use more powerful troops / more spells.
