A tip for those dark elixir zappers out there...

It is a fact that zapping DE is a large part of the game for lower level players that are too lazy to develop some skills to execute a proper raid. Sadly this extends into later game play as well as not long ago i was raided by a TH10 L144 who after failing to get a star let alone access to my base core elected to zap the DE so tantalizingly close, but so far away since all the invading troops were dead from a very weak attack.

I hear some TH7 and early TH8 saying "its the only way for me to get DE to get my BK". Well to this i call ♥♥. I maxed TH7 & TH8 including getting BK to 10 and never once zapped DE. I did however do a lot of raids, many of which failed along the way and i learned a ton about the variations of both base design and troop strength.

All you do by sniping TH and zapping DE is cheät yourself. You wind up in a league you can't sustain and can never hope to win raids in facing bases way out of your grasp. Of course you feel like your only resort is to zap DE. Then suddenly you are a weak TH9 with no raiding skills and the game is against you. Seriously, don't take the low easy road to crystal 3 just for the badge. Farm in an appropriate range, learn to use your troops well and build a strong base. You will enjoy the game more, and be a much stronger player for it.

Entirely incorrect, i zap peoples DE storage because i can. I'm farming in Gold 1, i've been here for 2 weeks and i've been winning every single raid i've tried to win. As a new Town Hall 8 who just came out of a maxed (100% maxed) Town Hall 7 i obviously don't have any LVL 5 troops yet, so executing a strategy that gets me right into your dark elixir storage is unnecessary due to the fact that my dark elixir storage is overflowing, it's currently upgrading. Your juicy dark elixir storage is perfectly shaped to take the blow from an un-costly Lightning spell and i'll gladly take every drop of it. I'll pummel into your base with barbarians and archers and get right into your dark elixir storage if i want, won't get the 1 star but you'll be sad i didn't zap your storage and take 10% of what i just took.

I would never take it from a base that is pushing. I would only take farmers.. I would snipe your TH so u get the shield..
Peeps please be more aware that TH7 has little or no chance of taking it by force of arms..

I think a better way to put it is that Town Hall 7's who are aiming for a Barbarian King will mostly find the Dark Elixir to be with well upgraded TH8's+ and getting to that storage with pathetic troops is not going to happen. A way to get the dark elixir almost without worrying about the base is by using mass dragons, but unless that storage is filled to the brim kiss that strategy goodbye. I don't think we all want to spend 390,000 elixir on a dragon + rage spell raid to come back with 700 dark elixir.

Im a th9, get my DE zapped all the time cause I usually have over 1.5k available. Anyway, while I don't like getting zapped, I don't think its a dirty strategy or anything. Unless they have good loot I never revenge. Wasting a raid for little loot? No thanks, I'd rather go get 3 times the loot from another person. Revenge is stupid unless there is good loot.

I'm th 7 with max def/troops. Gold is full at the moment (yes 4,001,000) collectors are full as well. I'm currently waiting for TH upgrade to finish (3 days to go).

I am zapping DE's and sniping exposed drills. In return I snipe the TH's to give free shields.

You are welcome to revenge me anytime you want. Take my loot and trophies in exchange for your DE. It's the price to pay for DE zappers.

Seriously regardless if I zap your storage or get it fair and square, you TH 9's will steamroll my base with barch L6,bk,aq and a few spells then take all the loot that you can get. This is how a TH 7 feels, hence the zapping.

This continuous cycle will go on till my BK is lvl 5 or until TH 8 whichever comes first. I know at some point in the game I will get zapped. So i guess it's fair.

P.S. I only zap th 9 and 10's so no hard feelings. Honestly i know what's coming if I zap/steal your DE. You're welcome to revenge me and stomp my base to your hearts content in exchange for your juicy DE.

Oh and for th 9s and 10's out there with exposed drills, I can't thank you enough. You make TH 7's life much easier by saving us 3 zaps which takes an a hr and a half to make. That 3 zaps can be better used for a much jucier DE storage hiding behind the infernos, x-bows and teslas at the center or for those a-holes that plants hidden teslas on their outside TH which entitles them a mandatory DE zap.

Lol see you're laughing now, but when i take out the splash defences near the outside of your base with archers i will send in my barbarian king with a few wallbreakers in my clan castle and deploy 80 barbarians and use his ability there will be a total of 86 enraged barbarians caving the inside of your base in

It not that th7 are too lazy it is because it too hard to get de by brute force. Even the most skilled town hall 7 can't beat a well designed th8 or9

So attack a poorly defended 8/9/10. DE at TH7 isn't hard to get at all. My BK is level 3 already and I've only been a TH7 a couple weeks.

People want the easiest route. Besides I bet everybody will probably tell the early TH7's to go up as high as they could on trophy count to farm DE, but the higher you go the harder it is to find poorly defended TH 8/9/10.

Zapping takes no skill at all to pull off. Just find a base 2 or 3 levels higher than you with a very abundant DE to steal, zap them with those 3 lightning spells and you can go on your merry way. You can give them a shield if you want to or not . Either way they will rage revenge you and steamroll your base regardless if you zap them or not.

Bottom line if it's DE you stole no matter what method, expect revenge 5 mins after you log off.
