If someone attacks you with a three troop combination, they shouldn't be able to collect as much loot as someone that attacks with five or seven different types of troops.
I'm all for farming and stuff, but you the game should reward people that use bigger more elaborate strategies in their pursuit of victory.
That would make many champions quit because there unable to find loot :/

9 troop variation, maximum loot still have 126 archers and 50 barbs for barching. Give me the loot!

Any algorithm worth being called one wouldn't allow for such a thing.
People would abuse this and you can just find a good amount of loot without this idea you can also upgrade your drill/mine/collector to get more loot.
Now you want an ultra complicated algorithm to do what? Force people to use troops they don't want to?
Are you the type that believes in using the tax code for social engineering?
So... I need equal parts barbs, archers, goblins, giants, wallbreakers and healers if I attack with a giant + healer army and want loot?
Edit: If you can give us an algorithm that would actually WORK to do this, prevent exploiting, as well as not requiring my above scenario, I will give a bit of support.
