I gemmed my 4th builder, as I spammed my early gemms away, and £2.99 was easier than starting again, when i realised i'd made a noob error .....

I know several kids in my clan, gemmed their BK, rather than grind out the 10k de for him.

I think peoples problem with "gemmers", is that as soon as somebody shouts "gemmer" in a derrogatory way, it brings to mind all those premmie 10's with infernos, and gold walls and low level towers, hiding out in gold league ......

Seeing as gemmers keep it free for the rest of us - gem on

    I'm a Gemmer

I'm a 50 yr old that makes decent money and have been playing COC for 6-8 months. I consider this game one my hobbies that I spend money on. I see no difference in buying gems for this game than paying $300 on a game consol and tons of money on games. And I get much more play time on coc than I would on a game consol.

While I will never gem and look disdainfully at the number of low quality bases and skill levels amongst Gemmers, it does provide easy pickings for non Gemmers.

To state this is the only economic model though raises the level of gemmer ignorance to new heights.

I realize the current generation of player has bought the propaganda line put forth by the oligarchical gamer community interested only in maintaining the system they control. And I also realize the robotic nodding of head is easier than thinking or knowing historical background.

My guess is y'all never heard of Federation. Perhaps the #1 all time multi player game. It set the standard for the games today ( and smokes CoC.). Free, played by millions, far more complicated than CoC. It was destroyed by corporate gamers because it threatened profits and control, much like GM destroyed intercity rail to force cars and freeways on the world as the predominant mode of urban life.

Think. Though I know it's difficult for many....

Why buy gems is bad and go to the cinema is good? They are both forms of recreation and have the same cost but one, don't know why, is evil...

Without gemmers we wouldn't be playing this game free. I fully support them because people can do what they want if it's within the rules to make the game fun for them self.

From what I've seen, the derogatory atmosphere isn't because gems are being purchased instead of being used elsewhere, it's because they don't like that, by gemming, one can circumvent a lot of hardwork/time needed for leveling up a base. Basically, there is a feeling that you shouldn't be able to get something done faster just because you have the means to do so.

Remember, it's OK to buy a $20k car so you don't have to ride public transportation, carpool, or bike/walk. It's ok to buy a computer so you don't have to go to a library to perform research, or even have to pick up the phone to contact someone.

However, if you want to spend money so you don't have to stare at a screen all day......then you must be a terrible person =/
