Only the cost has a significant increase ! Be it lv 4 or 5 , cannons and mortars can KO them easily! Archer tower can 2 shot kill them !! Not worth it , just for granding your profile !!! I didn't do it !!!

Yes, they're worth it. If you're crazy about costs then don't upgrade them but when you move into a bigger house, you have to pay more money for the lighting bills, the electrical bills and the utilities. Don't expect when you move into TH9 that you'll only have to pay for half of your bills.
