Level 5 to 6 barbarians/archers worth it?

Barbs and Archers 6 are totally worth it, archers can't be 1 shoted by lvl 5 mortars which will save you a ton of times while farming TH8s. Plus, let's say that you use 100 archers in your army comp, that's 200 extra DPS for your entire army! And elixir is easy to get anyways.

DPS: 23
Health: 95


Level 6 Barbarian:


DPS: 26 (+3)
Health: 110 (+15)


Summary: +3 damage and +15 health does not seem like a lot....at all. But lets say youre using 100 barbs (barch). That would mean an extra 300 DPS, and an extra 1500 health to your army. That makes a big difference.

O_o the flaw is we arent taking into account, the splash dmg, or defenses nor the splash dmg of gb, which often limit that added stat... like those extra dps and health, are rly raw... and often the actual stat increase will be signicantly lower, since those stats assume 100% utilization.

Are you a fresh TH9? Do you need a lot of elix for AC,SF,DD,etc, etc? then you'll want to spend as little as you can when raiding, so do the troops first that cost least to train!

As a fresh th9, why would you want to bother upgrading troops for a small increase. I would save archers for last, when elixir isn't a problem. I would much rather be upgrading my spell factory, army camps, and drills verse getting a small buff on an archer for 7.5 million.

Yes, this exactly. They are worth it to upgrade, but they aren't your top priority at early TH9.

All those cost 1,6 - 2,25M elixir with a 5 day research time, you'll get that amount barching in no time. Upgrading barbs and archers are definitely worth it, especially if you're barching (which you should).

I'm a fresh TH9 and sitting with full elixir storages, got my camps and lab upgrading. Elixir is not a problem.

Personally I have them and feel it was worth it, though I delayed my upgrade thinking it wouldnt be and wish I hadn't waited. I'd recommend that you only accept contrary advice as valid if you hear it from someone who actually has them and thinks they weren't worth it. Everyone else is just theorycrafting.

It's up too you if you want the extra boost. But I think that they are mostly to show that you have that level of troops. I personally think that they are the same. But in the end, it's all up to you!
