Level 5 to 6 barbarians/archers worth it?

4-5 was definitely worth, but it didnt cost 12 million elixir or three weeks of upgrading. Upping barbs right now to increase my storage raiding capability, archers are next because they own so much when I view my base defenses.

Level 5 Barbarian:


DPS: 23
Health: 95


Level 6 Barbarian:


DPS: 26 (+3)
Health: 110 (+15)


Summary: +3 damage and +15 health does not seem like a lot....at all. But lets say youre using 100 barbs (barch). That would mean an extra 300 DPS, and an extra 1500 health to your army. That makes a big difference.


Level 5 Archer:


DPS: 20
Health:40


Level 6 Archer:


DPS: 22 (+2)

Health: 44 (+4)


Summary: Same ushing, +2 damage and +4 health does not seem a lot, but 100 archers (barch) would mean an extra 200 DPS and 400 health.

Youd think health wouldnt help much because they get one-shotted anyways, right? WRONG.... Level 5 archers get one shotted by level 5 mortars. Level 6 archers are two-shotted by level 5 mortars. To rmember is, it takes the same level archer as the same level mortar.

EX: Level 1 archers are one shotted by level 1 mortars. Level 2 archers are one shotted by level 2 mortars, and so on.

Also, it takes level 9+ cannons to 1-shot maxed archers. If you have maxed troops, you can 2-3 star any th8 and below with barch. Usually...


So do I think upgrading troops tolevel 6 is worth it? yes...

this is the real answer guys. with lvl 5 troops, you're doing well against th9's and can probably scrape by getting 50% on some th10's, but you don't see guys barching to champions league with lvl 5 barbs and archers. archers and barbs are used in packs, and a small bump in stats is multiplied.

Of course its worth it, you don't eventually want to have all your troops maxed? Besides after you play long enough there wont be anything else to spend you elixir on...

Are you a fresh TH9? Do you need a lot of elix for AC,SF,DD,etc, etc? then you'll want to spend as little as you can when raiding, so do the troops first that cost least to train!

They are worth it.

Ignore what the marginal improvement to the stats (particularly the archer). Stats are obviously a nice academic comparison, but tell you nothing about what the troops are like to use. The real question is how a level 5 army compares to a lvl 6 army.

Personally I noticed a massive increase in how efficiently I was able to farm. Factors such as the lvl 6 archers ability to survive a single shot from a lvl 5 mortar make a big difference in farming some TH8 bases.

Max barbs are worth it.

On one account I did them first, the other after most other pink upgrades. I noticed a profound difference. Max barbs are just so much better.

I plan on upgrading giant and loons before upgrading archer and barbs.

I am TH9 and have been barching for sometime, not really making any special effort to "win" or "lose", just trying to get resources. This strategy had me in gold one most of the time when I had lvl 5 barbs. All I did was upgrade my barbs to lvl 6 and I am now pushing crystal 2. I immediately upgraded archers once I saw this. My elixir is maxed 99% of the time anyway.
