Question regarding Gold

I recently got back into the game after quitting for some time.

I was a hardcore farmer back then and so was my clan.

Now I am back (Whether I'll stay or not is questionable), I was looking at some hardcore farming clans and I noticed some required a specific amount of Gold Grab. I took a look at mine and noticed it was way below what is required. I then looked at some of the bases and saw that some of their bases are either at the same level or below, yet, they have a significantly higher Gold Grab (Like 150 mil higher).

My question is, why is my Gold Grab significantly lower than theirs if we're about the same level.

Note: I never spent gems on Gold.
And I'm TH9 with max TH8 defenses

You could have played the game before the profile update. Before that there was no record of gold stolen.

It still recorded gold stolen, only up to 100 million though.

Maybe they've gotten so much, and don't use it, because they spend all of it searching for collector raids?

Probably lost a good amount from defense, or they might be terrible at management of wealth.

This makes sense. I did start before profile was a thing, then they implement that sometime along my late clash days.

To the rest: No, those aren't the cases. They are hardcore farmers like I was. They know better. And if they can't find any good bases, they'll think of an alternative instead of sitting there letting all the gold go wasted.

And if anyone is still curious, I have level 8 walls and about 5% level 9 walls.
