How far should I max out my townhall 8?

So far every single building is maxed apart from:

Wizard tower: all level 5 (2 upgrading to level 6)

Archer tower: all level 9 (planning on upgrading all to level 10)

Hidden tesla: all level 3 (planning on upgrading all to level 4 or 5)

Walls: all level 7 (planning on upgrading all to level 8)

Barbarian king: level 8 (planning on upgrading to level 10)

Also all lab upgrades are maxed apart from DE troops, only upgraded are hogs and minions both at level 2.

So is it worth it to upgrade these defences or should I just upgrade to townhall 9?

Upgrade all defenses before going to TH9.

Your basically asking, should I max everything except Hidden Teslas by 1-2 levels? And you should max them because the DPS on a Lv 6 Hidden Tesla Im almost positive is higher than that of any other defense at TH8 maxed.

I'm asking should I bother with all these upgrades as they are getting tedious to farm resources for, or if I should just go straight to townhall 9 as I'm pretty maxed out already.

Move to TH9 as soon as your wizard towers, mortars, air defenses, army camps and farming troops are maxed. Get your walls up to 7 at least. Upgrade your teslas by one level while your town hall upgrade is going and make sure to have 6 million gold ready when it is about to finish.

Move to TH9 as soon as your wizard towers, mortars, air defenses, army camps and farming troops are maxed. Get your walls up to 7 at least. Upgrade your teslas by one level while your town hall upgrade is going and make sure to have 6 million gold ready when it is about to finish.

The offensive and defensive boost you gain as a TH9 compared to TH8 is just so huuuge:

Level 6 troops make it extremely easy to get into almost any village.

The 4th storage really helps with spreading the loot around your base.

4th wizard tower. Helps you so extremely much.

You gain access to the archer queen, the bane of TH8s.

To add to this, loot doesn't even get more rare. It takes me around one minute to find a 200k gold raid.

I think you should wait. I'm a TH8 and Currently I have maxd wiz towers, mortars, cannons, and 1 tesla. The other two teslas are upgrading to 6, and all 3 ADs are upgrading to 6. My ATs are all level 9, and I'm going to get all of them to 10 before I go, since there is no real reason not to.

Adding a lvl 1 AQ and an xbow do not make up for the rest of your crappy defenses.
