Adding More Than One Research Slot

Like builders, there should be a way to research more than one troop or spell at once, via buying extra slots with gems.

This is an okay idea... but you have considerably less lab upgrades than you have defense upgrades so I don't see why you would need another research slot. Also researching can be very expensive so I doubt anyone would have the loot to upgrade two units at one time.

This is ruled out.
I expect one reason is that it would be too easy to hide loot away, making elixir and dark elixir harder to find

its no different than hiding elixir and gold away in upgrading defenses.
