In need of a TH8 farming base, as well as war base... Lacking 3rd Tesla and P.E.K.K.A

I've been at TH8 for almost two weeks now and I'm on my third base. I had maxed defenses and walls at TH7 so was off to a decent start. Though, I will admit that I have been a prime target with new defenses being built, after those I usually have at least 3 builders on defense upgrades (and these defense upgrades will go for a many weeks), and tons of loot (elixir is always maxed - but this stuff is overflowing so I don't care if this gets stolen). I've been farming big time lately so I try to dump my gold into upgrades or walls as soon as I have a free builder and then repeat the cycle.

My main focus is to protect dark elixir storage (to first get my barb king to level 10) and then gold storages... the bases I have tried so far are:
1. Trapception - I was getting pummeled by various town hall levels, many times close to 100%. I was losing everything.

2. Pokeball - I had great success with the TH7 version of this base. At TH8, this was working out OK until my dark elixir got closer to 20k (which means I had ~1200 or more lootable)... in three back to back raids the other day, I had 3700 dark stolen from me, ugh.

3. Dominion - I'm using a variation of the "1C" layout... so far this is working out the best of the three I tried. I'm still hovering around 22k dark and so far no attacks have taken more than 500 off of me.

And when I do defense upgrades, I move the building to the outside of my base in the hopes it will attract giants or hogs while my point defenses can pick at them. And for the spots you have your teslas, I move those outside when upgrading and either fill their spot with a giant bomb, bombs or other traps, or just leave it empty (someone with an army of hog riders may suspect giant bombs are in those open spots and just might pass on raiding - hopefully).

pekkas are troops. just like barbs, archers, gobs, giants, wallbreakers, balloons, wizards, healers, and drags; it takes elixir to train

use this base its done really well and ive been 2 starred once. The elixir is pretty exposed, but elixir is so abundant at th 8 (which means your storages will have the max amount of elixir most of the time). It saves dark elixir really well and gold too. One exception an experienced hogger will DESTROY you but the hogs were nerfed so who cares.

Try it out, btw im in gold 1 at 1800 to 1950 trophies and theres tons of loot here

From the sound of it, it seems as though you are premature base or have weakened defenses. I think that if you are going to try out layouts, do not judge them immediately because you lose resources or get 3 starred. That is bound to happen since you are still fairly new and have a weakened defense. I think that you should just stick to one base design because you will be wasting your time building a new base everyday because you will lose until you have high enough defenses. Do not worry about the tesla since it does not take up any space. You should start off by building every available building at town hall 8 so that it makes it easier and you get that out of the way early.
