Well, I have all of my DE Troops (excluding Valks) maxed for TH9 (Minions at 5, Hogs at 5, Golems at 4, and Witches at 2) so I'd rather upgrade my heroes as opposed to upgrading the (in my opinion) still useless Valks. Of course, I am worrying less about DE, basically instead of BArching, I am now BAMing because it's more effective and I train Loonion armies overnight.

I have maxed everything at TH8 (including walls), with the exception of my Barbarian King, which I have at L5. I decided to make the move to TH9 a few days ago, as my storages are completely maxed, and I want some fun new toys. I think for now I'll just save my DE so I can get the AQ right away, and then I'll concentrate on getting her to L5 before considering next steps. I think I would rather spend DE on golems, witches, hogs, etc. before working on hero upgrades.

I'm keeping both at level 5 until my dark troops are maxed...then I may work on them some.

Overall I was happy with the hero update, but I have decided to stop ugrading both of them for now. The extra damage isn't worth the extra regen time or de cost. They flattened the amount of extra damage and health per upgrade but kept the costs the same.
When pushing to champs i understand you need high level heroes. For a th 9 farmer like me, level 10 heroes are sufficient.
If supercell flattens the cost per upgrade i will start upgrading again. For now, it means i can use that de for fun troop compositions and not be too worried about cost.

Oh...and one more thing: the people who are still upgrading heroes may end up kicking themselves ina few weeks if supercell does reduce the upgrade cost in the next update lol
