Need a clan war opt out option

Supercell, please add an opt out of clan wars feature. It could simply be an on/off toggle. For people that go on vacation, they toggle it on until they get back so they aren't dead weight. For people that simply don't want to do clan wars, they can leave it on indefinitely. Those who opt out are not counted in the quantity of players in matchmaking. So a clan of 25 players that has 3 opt out would be paired in a 20v20 war. The count would be done at the time that the war search starts, so someone can't opt out after the search has begun.

We have some folks in our clan that are great members so we don't want to boot them, but they simply don't want to or can't do clan wars. It is unfair that they must be brought along to a war both for those that feel forced to participate when they don't want to and for those that can't make it and waste two attacks each.

    Thank you for your consideration.

Just plan wars based on when your members say they can be there. No need to add a feature that isnt necessary.

You miss the point of my request. If people are on vacation, have a busy work week, have a family emergency, or whatever other reason, there is no way to get everyone's schedules aligned. We've even parred our wars down to one set day a week and can't ever get full participation.

You also neglect the other type of player I mention - those that simply do not want to do wars. Two of our members are the mother and father of the clan leader. They just like donating troops. They don't feel comfortable doing or enjoy wars. So our options right now are 1) boot them (that obviously isn't an option, they are very nice people and good clan mates), 2) force them to do the wars which is awkward for all of us, or 3) carry them into the war and lose 4 attacks before we even start.

If you want a successful war clan, simply remove the players that are not able to attack. After their "vacation" or whatever it is they have going on, they can just join back. No reason to add features to the game if you can easily prevent them with clan management.

That would mean that they lose their donation tally up to that point. We put a lot of emphasis on and track donations as part of who gets promoted.

You also continue to neglect the people that simply don't want to do clan wars. If they leave every time we do a war and do 2-3 wars a week, they are essentially permanently removed.

Also, those members of our clan that don't want to participate in wars still like to donate troops to the cause. They should be allowed to do so and wouldn't if they leave and come back.

This is simple. With the correct clan management, such as keeping a list of donations, everything can easily be taken care of. And for the people that do not want to do wars, they might not be the best members while trying to make a war clan. That can simply be taken care of by removing them. Easy fixes.

So we should keep a list of donations by hand outside of the game to track those folks that have to leave and come back? That is a bit ridiculous.

Also, why should there only be two options for clans - war clans and non-war clans? 90% of our clan enjoys doing wars, but not hardcore all the time. Why should we be forced to choose between doing wars and having nice clanmates that can't or don't want to do wars? That is a huge flaw in the clan war design. You are clearly in a clan that has hardcore players and all of your suggestions are great for that scenario, but there are plenty of casual clans like ours out there that your suggestions don't work for.

Yes. If you are a dedicated leader of a clan and want to have a successful clan, you should keep a list. In my clan, after every season, I add up all members donated and recieved troops. I have a total of all their donated troops from their entire stay in the clan. Thats just an easy way to see how loyal your members are.

Also, I've also read on the forums of leaders being able to choose the number of participants in war.
    Such as a
    20 vs 20
    30vs 30
    ect...
With this, leaders would be able to choose the participants for war, eleminating the risk of starting a war and not having members participating.

Maybe the child (clan leader) can do the attacks for their parents on their parents' mobile devices? That will award your clan 4 more attacks, and probably skillful attacks, which is an assumption based on the fact that the majority of clan leaders are skillful raiders.
