I'm debating whether or not to spend $25 for my 4 & 5 builder. I'm an almost maxed out Th 8. I only need to finish up my AT and Cannons. My clan mates are telling me there is no point of buying more builders because my upgrades are going to be expensive and my builders would have no use. So can I get your guy's opinions on whether or not if I should buy them? Thanks.

Depends how active you are, i bought my fifth at th6 and kept them working non stop until maxed th10 defences.
Some i know tho struggle to keep three busy.
If your sat with filled storages waiting for builders then id say yes, if not then theres no point.

Well if you won't regret spending $25 then go ahead. But note that you can get the 4th and 5th builders for free by reaching for the achievements and saving up gems.
If you think you can make your 3 builders busy all the time, and you are maxing out your storages then go ahead buy the gems.
I usually have all 5 builders working on something unless I'm trophy pushing. It depends how active you are and how much loot you can get. If you're not so active then there is no point but if you're active and make lots of loot a day then builders are the best investment you can make. It all depends on your activity! If you are having trouble dumping your resources, I'd suggest you buy them. Actually, in all honesty, having 5 builders is a very good decision. It makes sure the game doesn't progress too slow that you lose interest.
1 tip though. If you are going to end up buying them anyways, the earlier the better. If you keep waiting, the time you waited is going to be wasted.

I usually spend 2-3 hour raiding everyday and my workers are always busy. But the thing is after the raiding period I use all my resources on defense and I have nothing left. So wouldn't the 1 or 2 extra workers kinda be worthless?

Yeah, that's why it's up to your activity. If you don't have any more resources to spend after all your builders are working, there is no reason to buy another builder. Maybe consider it when your activity increases

I bought my 5th builder halfway thru th8 and I just wished I would have bought him sooner. Progress through upgrades so fast it doesnt feel like such a grind.
Going to th9 you have 2 heroes to upgrade so those extra builders will come in handy.

3 is good for casual or slower game play.. 1.5-2.5 mill a day through TH7
4 is great for TH7 in general, as the upgrades are starting to cost more and its a bit more efficient as far as 2 builders on Offense (elix) upgrades and two on Defense (gold) and hero if you can get enough Dark great for TH8 and TH9 IMO too.
I feel like 4 builders is ideal for TH8 and 9 for how I play. I am just above casual, as I play daily, but I am not Hard core and play 8+ hrs a day.. so four on long upgrades suits my game play style.
my main has 5 builders, I was happy with this until TH9 where it was soo expensive to upgrade things at 5mill or more on my upper-casual schedule.. so they sleep some.. I do not regret getting them (did so at TH7 and flew through those upgrades)
in summary, if you are upper-casual or more; than at TH7 get the 4th and maybe even 5th builder for around 25 USD $$$ it will be worth your money, then use the extra gems to get boosted barrax and finish upgrades on a better for you schedule.
More builders will always help you progress faster.. If you don't think you can keep all 5 busy all the time try just getting a 4th and see how that goes.. Even if you can only have 4 going on upgrades at all times and have that extra 5th to slowly build walls up as you go it helps a lot. I bought my 5th builder when I was getting ready to go to th9 and I'm happy I did with all the long build times. I haven't had trouble keeping them all busy as of yet you just got to time them right so a bunch don,t finish on the same day and you're stuck without resources. If you got the spare cash get em for sure!
