Also maybe to get around that Supercell could make it so that anyone who isnt in a league(crystal or masters or whatever) cant participate in a war. Because a person has to log on and attack to join a league this could maybe make it so that the leader doesnt have the power to whitelist as many people as he wants. Also if the clan is at like 38 people then the clan leader only has the power to whitelist 3 people to round the numbers off.

I really want this to be added into the game but i just thought of something that might stop SC from adding this into the game. All clans have a few lower level guys are great and donate a lot. My clan has like 6 of them and the only reason theyre still in our clan is because theyre ALWAYS ON and they donate like crazy. The thing is they arent the best when it comes to clan war raiding. In other clans a leader might take advantage of this and only allow the best players to join in wars. Also, if a clan has 40-50 people, the clan leader can choose his top 20 and face clans that only have 20 people in them. I think that this would be the biggest problem.

That's how a system like this works in any other game. its expected that, it would happen. if the people dont like it, they can always leave and look for a better clan. I will also mention, most games only allow set amount of players to CW, 5, 10, 15 or 20 usually not more then 10.

But remember this, this system is PLAYER based, not leader based. the only thing the leader can do is fill in any missing slots (say 41 opt in but he needs 45, he can select 4 more people even if they don't want to war).

Im not sure i understand when u say most games... do u mean other games similar to clash of clans or like clan war games? Because I know that clan wars is a set number and atelast 10 or somthing people are needed.

    I had a similar idea

Player based, not leader, and leader cant affect it in any way (other than booting members he doesn't want to be in the clan as usual).

Supercell would be amazing if that happens! My former clan had lost so many wars due to player inactivity while it is so simple to just excuse yourself from wars before they begin.

    Excellent idea!!!

PLUS ONE BIG YES VOTE HERE!!

ever since the 'war' facility has been introduced by Supercell it has created unnecessary division and even confrontation within clans

Put simply, not everyone in the clan either :
    a) wants to take part in a war
    b) is always available to take part in war (eg holiday or they may even have things happening in real life - shock!)

This annoys the war zealots in the clan, as those not taking part are perceived as 'weakening' the clan and making defeat more likely.

So... to counteract this, the war zealots then talk in terms of non participants having to 'trophy down', or even better temporarily leave the clan!!! The seeds for potential bullying are all here.

who needs a war when this this confrontation already going on within a single clan?!

Short of withdrawing the war facility, I see the only fair answers are either:
    a) an "opt-in" so people can 'volunteer' themselves for any of the wars fought by the clan, and will therefore be expected to partake in the war by other clan members!
    b) an "opt-out" which will mean that clan member is not included, and therefore their non participation in the war is not detrimental to their clan

I think such an addition would solve a whole load of problems and bickering, this bring the FUN factor back to the game!!

Best idea on this forum. Well done.

Support this as well, and you are right, not all players are available to attack. Not everyone who plays this game is a student in school, but there are quite a few who also work long hours of the day and thus can't devote every day to potentially attacking.

    Thumbs Up

I like this idea, and I think it is something that supercell will possibly consider implementing because it makes a lot of sense and as far as I can tell, there is little if any downside. People go out of town or camping or for whatever reason can't play CoC every day (as much as they'd like to of course) and as someone who is in a clan with real-world friends, it would be nice if people could opt-out (or in) of wars rather than have to leave the clan, or be a dead weight in the clan war.

Just to keep the conversation lively I will provide counterpoints to the active discussion thread once again. To me "not having time" is completely bogus. It takes 30 seconds to queue up your army and 3:30 to run your attack, twice. That is 8 minutes broken up into 4 chunks in a 24 hour day. I have two jobs and four kids and even when I do not get to really "play" at all during the day I can still get my attacks in every war EASY. To me this is the same nonsense argument that people use when they complain about loosing their loot to Barch armies. It only takes 30 seconds to log in and empty your collectors. Do this twice a day and no barch army will ever attack you.

I do however think there is room for a low number of vacation/unavailable statuses that could be set for actual inability to play. Things like military deployment, vacation out of the country or on a cruise, hospitalization, etc. I think one 1 per 10 people in a clan would be adequate without compromising the concept of "Clan" "War".
