I think it's a change to do soon... Clan member can't just keep leaving and entering the clan all the time...
I support your idea

Adding a way for members to be able to not play in a clan war is so important to the working of the clan!! We really need this option!
Thanks for the outstanding support of my suggestion!

Clan War Whitelist Option|New Dark Elixir Flying Unit
This was not asded to the new game changes coming out... what in the world..... come on, pass this idea.... or something along the lines....
bump.
Yes please!
As a clan leader I think this is required to keep a clan going. There are people in my clan who doesn't want to participate in the wars, I don't want them to participate in the wars either. The only way to keep a clan going is by kicking everyone constantly. We deserve a better way to manage our clans.

No, thank you for putting it out there. I have been supporting this idea on this and every other of the many threads I see come across. I also keep reading the suggestions and have fro them composed my own picture of what would meet everyone's needs. I have been adding that to every thread too in the hopes that SC sees it enough times to give it some thought. Although it is on this thread already it is many pages ago so I will paste it here again. Although I could live with variations this is exactly what I would like to see SC put in. It leverages as much existing functionality as possible so most things will work the same.
Regarding the kick/reinvite option, that does not work well because it resets stats and also some folks don't feel good about kicking in general. I do understand there are some that don't care about these things and are fine with kicking, but its not all.
Regarding OP players putting troops in lower players, that happens today. Sometimes they are in the same clan and in the war (or not), sometimes in a different clan. But it happens. For those concerned about that maybe they should implement with this, or even without it still a restriction that only troops from other warriors can be used in attacks. Either way, there are very few high level players that will want their CW experience to be one of sitting in a clan not warring or anything other than feeding high level troops to low level players for bonuses they get no share in.
Regarding loss of easy wars against clans only half interested, that I think is possible. But is that a bad thing? Some will say yes because they are in it for the profits, others will say no because they are in it for the competition.
How it should work...
There should be a button (it can be a new one or the war shield can be modified) that toggles a player as in or out.
Access to hit the button to toggle should go to the leader and the player in question.
---- individual players cannot opt each other in or out
---- its an argument either way to give it to co as well - Good for clans where co is a management job, bad for clans that give it out like candy. (I consider the latter to be a sign of a bad leader)
---- A leader who abuses authority to opt guys in against their wishes are really just hurting their own selves for how they are adding a risk to their war participation. (the guy might then just not attack anyhow, if not seeing eye to eye with leader he wont care)
---- A leader opting a guy out against his wishes has that prerogative to decide who he wants in his war. And its still nicer than just kicking the guy like happens now.
The status of a player is only a factor right at the time a war starts. Instead of just selecting all eligible players from the total population it will just be all eligible players from the opted in group.
---- Can even implement by leveraging the existing eligibility functionality that currently is only driven by a timer.
After that everything works the same. The list of warriors from the clan is rounded to an even 5 via the existing logic and then the matchmaking calculation takes place also using the existing logic.
A player joins a clan with his eligibility set the same way it is today. (He is in unless there is a timer)
Things that would not happen -
...A player cannot add themselves to a war after the fact. If they change their status during a war it makes no difference until the next war when that status is read at startup.
...This would not serve as a way to replace members that take off during war. if they do that then there is the same affect on the war as there is today. Unused attacks stay unused. (it will never change that this just stinks when guys pull that stunt)
Great idea! also prevent inactives or people on vacation from attacking
