I'm on iPad. Instead of restart, I click the CoC Home button (not the device Home button).
Then start search all over again.

Once you disconnect from CoC even for a split second, there is a chance you'll get attacked.

could be worse lol. i was in the 3850 trophy range and had just found a raid and started the battle only to get the damn lost connection right after starting. when i came back online i was already being attacked. not only did i lose 27 cups for the raid i was disconnected on i lost 32 cups on defense. that was fun. needless to say i stayed away from clash for the rest of the day haha

You lost connection while searching for a raid. Thats why you were stuck in the clouds searching. Once that happens you are added to raidable bases in the search que. It has happened to everyone pretty much including me
