my name is Sinbad and I am king of Sindria, 7th time dungeon capturer, founder of the 7 seas alliance, chosen by rukh, david's incarnation, king's vessel etc etc.
I'm a town hall level 7 fully maxed and I want to hear some advice on THLV8.

so basically TH lv 8 is frustrating? I'll try to go to THLv9 as soon as possible.

if you find yourself with an abundance of elixir, instead of making your whole base a target for th9's, stick your th out ( 101 farming ), and place 1/2/even 3 of your elixir storages next to it. That way, most times than not they will take your elix, give a shield and be on their way.
I would advise you to max out th8 completely before moving to th9. Walls and heroes included. They may seem like quite a lot now, but if you are a serious clasher, then time will show you you won't regret it.
IF, though, you are not a serious clasher ( btw this meaning you play clash every spare second you have ), then only max defense, but max all of it. Tesla and air defense included. Barbarian king to 5 will suffice, and all walls lvl 7 should suffice too.

Don't rush to TH9, you'll get smashed by TH10s and will never be able to save any resources for your upgrades. Not to mention the sheer number of buildings you get (4th AD, 4th WT, xbox, 2nd drill, queen, etc). Take your time at Th8 and at least get purple walls and maxed splash defense, as well as lvl 5 troops for your most used.
